Okay okay, I missed a 0. But I wasn't actually thinking hard about numbers when I was trying to make my point. I guess points are better taken when the numbers are correct eh?
Actually, Coke is not the "wonder drink" it's been made out to be. On Mythbusters (Discovery channel), it was disproved that coke can degrease an enginer, tenderize meat, and some other stuff.
I don't know the whole story, but touching up on what you're saying about the name.
One could think the name Watson was used becuase Watson was the assistant to Sherlock. In this case, Sherlock would be you, or the user of the Mac, and Watson would be assisting with the searching.
I can think that down the road, once Apple has a lot of users using the iTMS, they will change it to a subscription based service ala iTools/mac.com to try to make up for their "missed" profit.
I like the Kensington Turbo trackballs as well. However, I do find that a lot of dust/dirt/crap/whatever gets stuck underneath the trackball by the rollers and what not. I may not have the cleanest workspace, but I do try to keep it clean (I wipe things down and what not). Looking forward to when Kensington moves from those rollers to optical sensors for their trackballs.
What version of the OS are you running? I had issues with Word Whomp being painfully slow. However, after the 10.2 update or one of the 10.2.x updates, it became decently playable (hmmm, that sounds weird). See if updating your system helps out (in case you haven't yet).
This could make for some great competition inspired innovation. Much like how AMD and Intel compete with each, they're always coming out with better procs to out do the other. As a consumer, we can choose to go with either AMD or Intel for our setup.
Apple -- and Apple's customers if they did go this route -- will have the same choice as well. Machines based off the 970 and its successor or Mot's new proc. With IBM and Mot competing for the same market, they will have to keep improving to be on top.
This is an interesting path, although very unlikely as I don't think Apple has enough cash reserves to buy Sun and McNeely's ego. However, purchasing Sun will give Apple a larger foot in the door for the high end server market. And considering Sun's anti-Microsoft attitude, it wouldn't be so bad for them.......hey, maybe just a partnership?
I thought there was a setting where you could disable font smoothing when it got to a certain font size. Are you able to set that to a large size (72?) to get rid of the font smoothing?
Heh, the next time a company tries to sue another with claims of IP/stolen code, SCO will sue them for unlicensed use of their moral code. :-D

I think if you want to read a book with that kind of ending, you'll need to read something by Ron Jeremy instead of ones by Agatha Christie. ;-)
I can see that. Especially when part of "being cool" meant spending a lot of money on useless/overpriced office furniture and accessories.
I remember seeing a lot of $100+ executive office chairs on eBay from going out of business dotcoms.
I guess I'll have to put that "Block" button to more use now.
Guess you haven't been following the news recently.... ;-)
Maybe that's how the constitution was meant to be put, but the person inking it in was dyslexic and put it in backwards.....

However, it is a great drink!

Actually, the tricky part was to figure out how to keep consumers from accessing the battery.
Next Q: Can the commenters at /. let even one pot-shot at Microsoft go without taking a pot-shot at the editors?
How much is that going to run you? With the price of 4GB CF drives and the PocketPC device, you may be better off getting a laptop.
They have. The new page is located here. (Okay, everyone click on that link!)
Dammit! You're right. We should also get paid for this.
As Quagmire would say, "Awright!"
Not defending the guy or anything, but maybe he likes the hardware and wants to run YellowDog or something.
He does seem kinda indecsive though....

I guess all the need to do now to this mouse is incorporate a Li-Ion battery with an intuitive charging setup and you'd be set.

Last year's winner not making it through qualifications? Must've been a cloudy day.
So, it's a San Francisco company with technology developed in New Zealand, but it's going to be utilized in Japan?

This looks like a job for Superman!
