There are many non-profit clinincs that operate on shoe-string budgets with donated equipment and doctor time. I think many of these might be interested in a package like this.
Not all doctors make six figures and most doctors donate some time to work on indigint patients.
I actually knew a guy who got busted for making fake ID's, maybe he did some other stuff too but that's what he claimed to have done time for.
2 F#$%ing years
He worked nights monitoring the NOC at a really crappy company I worked for briefly. Nobody wanted to hire a felon and that job started to look a little shaky, this company had terrible turnover.
So, one night he came into work and hung himself. I'm just glad I didn't find the body.
This is my recommendation for all high school and college students. Spend at least a couple weeks working for Labor Ready or some similar work today paid today temp agency.
Since you get paid at the end of the day and the jobs are very menial and degrading these types of places attract many drunks, ex-cons, and drug abusers. They're generally nice enough people who have made terrible decisions and can't get a regular job. They're often continueing to make terrible decisions.
Spend afew days observing the lives these people have built for themselves and you will get a real understanding of the wonders your parents have handed you.
Nothing builds work ethic like seeing the mess that can happen if somebody doesn't have one. Labor ready is the real man's Americorps.
Panda detects spyware, adware, and virus hoaxes, not to mention regular viruses, in their Corporate Antivirus Solution and thier Platinum Internet Security version.
I'm currently using thier corporate version and like it alot. It's not quite as good as ad-aware, but the mere fact that they seem to have commited themselves to addressing this issue speaks volumes to me.
I see many more problems caused by adware and spyware then by true viruses.
Punter is a reference to American Style football where one kicks (punts) the ball when it is too close to your goal-line and the other side gets the ball on the next down.
ITT is an accredited college that gives Associates of Science degrees and even has Bachelor of Science degrees now. Having attended a traditional university before going to ITT I found their courses to be somewhat disorganized. If you attend class it is very difficult to fail, whether that's good or not you decide.
I found that their number of campuses was a bonus because almost everybody has heard of them or worked with somebody who attended. This gave me something in common with people interviewing me. Also I was able to work in the field while I attended school so ended up with a degree AND experience, NICE. email me if you have any more questions.
ITT Tech has a pretty good Associate's program. It gives you a decent grounding in theory so you can get started in the industry quickly. I found it very difficult to get a job in the IT industry when I was 2/3's of the way toward's a BS in Computer Science. When I switched to ITT I was able to land an entry level IT job after the first quarter.
Education is very important, but a technical school like ITT allows you to really combine it with real world experience if you work hard and find the job. It's hard to work full time and go to school, but ultimately you'll be in a better place when your done.
It's in the implementation details. You can't possibly track the homeless without forcing the homeless to provide information and forcing the caretakers to collect that information. That's where the breech of civil liberties comes into place.
Actually, they won't provide any information, if you read the article you will see that they will be spotted from helicopters and shot with tranquilizers. Then each homeless person will be tagged with either a collar or one of the ear pegs that they use on livestock. Collar first, ear peg if they "lose" their collar. We don't want to be cruel.
The best solution I ever heard for this is to wrap everything in plastic, find a nice sturdy box and get afew cans of that expandable foam you spray in cracks (not sure of the name, but the hardware store should have plenty)
Just make sure that you have plenty of foam around your PC and it is wrapped in plastic so the foam doesn't stick to anything. Stay away from peanuts for anything heavy, peanuts are designed to give, you want something that is designed to stay rigid but can collapse without putting too much pressure on anything next to it.
I think the speed limit should be high enough that there is no reason to break it, say 95-100mph on most interstates 75-80mph around cities. It should also be vigerously enforced. I'm talking Cars impounded and sold if speeding.
Laws that are regularly broken by 80+% of the people are ridiculous and just make people have contempt for our government and legal system.
Look like all I have to do is wait about ten years so Creative Commons owns enough copyrighted material to make it worth my while, then stage a "hostile takover". All the copyrights will then belong to me and I can license them at whatver cost I wish. BWAHAHAHA....
Ditto..
I only have wife+2 (2nd daughter born yesterday!!! 8lbs 4oz) but the math above is close enough for statistics. I live in the West Michigan area if anybody is tracking locations.
The problem with our culture is that we say, "oh you're young, you should screw around, now is the time to do stupid stuff." I humbly disagree and say there is no right time to do stupid stuff, that's why it's stupid. We should tell our children, "oh, your 12 (or whatever) people won't take you seriously unless you don't do stupid stuff." Instead of remembering that somebody is "only a kid", we should remember they will someday (too soon) be an adult.
I agree, laws should either be enforced or removed from the books. Unenforced laws just give people a lack of respect for laws. I think that if you are speeding your car should be impounded and sold at auction. Maybe 90 days in jail too. Or we could raise speed limits to a reasonable level...
hmmmm....
The job I just got was handed to me w/ no interview. I called to check on a resume submitted afew days before and the hr drone said they had so many apps she was only considering the people who followed up with her. Took a quick peek at the resume and made me a pretty decent offer, contract for now, but it's looking good.
Something like 97% of 5 year periods have made money in the stock market, so a 5 year investment is still a bit of a gamble. According to Dave Ramsey 100% of 10 year periods since the dawn of the stock market have made money.
I too am tired of people saying "you should buy a house." I will buy a house when I'm ready to settle somewhere. Contrary to popular opinion, renting often makes good financial sense.
Unfortunatly alot of people who invest don't do it right. If $40,000 represents one year of work for you don't you think you should invest some of that year in learning how to manage your investments? If your too lazy then your better off dropping it all on red-8 and watching them spin the wheel.
I'd like to do an experiment with an Everquest player so that everytime they right click a piece of cheese comes out.
I wonder what would happen?
I fall asleep playing CivIII all the time, dose and then wake up and continue, maybe it's because I have kids.

Yeah that's smart.

duh, that's why everybody in India is doing it.

9.1 + 9.1 = 18.2 last time I checked.
18.2 > 16
somebody check my math

or you could buy some stock while it's down, since this is only a very temporary bump.
I would love to run Linux on my laptop, IBM Thinkpad 770z, but I find the wireless support in Linux to be sorely lacking.

It's not being stupid. I highly recomend Dave Ramsey. His advice has really helped me out.

works great on my palm.... ;-)
But I would never circumvent US law in any way.
congrats!
I for wish I could shake your hand, am I'm not trolling. As you read everybody else's comments just remember, "misery loves company".
5 years is a bare minimum
