Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've read that all you need to do is change the value of the DWORD "restrictanonymous" in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Lsa from 0 to 1.
Okay, from some of the comments, I know a lot of you feel this bill isn't perfect (what bill is?), but it's better than nothing, right? I don't mean to compromise, but in world where our consumer rights are being attacked everyday, I think we should take what we can get for the present while still fighting for the future. Of course, the perfect solution is to repeal the DMCA and prevent any laws like the SSSCA/CBDTPA from being passed, but since we haven't arrived in a perfect world yet, isn't supporting this bill and others like it, the best current solution?
Now, I ask what's the best way to support it?

I've wanted a Mac ever since OSX was released, and being somewhat of a geek, I like to tinker and customize things to my liking. I'm sorry to see Apple limiting my options in this, but I will probably still get a Mac someday as long as they don't close it up too much.
This is the same Spears who peddled her airbrushed ass to Pepsi so she could hock their products?
"You do a commercial and you are off the artistic role-call forever. End of story. You're another corporate fucking schill, you're another whore at the capitalist gangbang, and if you do a commercial, there's a price on your head, everything you say is suspect, and every word that comes out of your mouth is now like a turd fallen into my drink." -Bill Hicks
Woohoo! More money for overly-redundant pop and hip-hop performers.
Sasha did this will the released of his album, Airdrawndagger. Each CD contains a unique code that lets you access exclusive remixes and such from his site.
...any recommendations for a replacement? Honestly, I hardly use it for music (soulseek better serves my musical tastes), but it's good for video files of tv episodes, home movie-type stuff, and well, pr0n.
Probably delayed so they can implement palladium

If this is the case, then I'm not buying either. I absolutely refuse to support this type of profiteering and greed. I will buy one copy of the DVD and one copy only. I can wait for the final box set of all 3 movies or just not buy any of them at all.
My favorite electronic artist is Bedrock (Nick Muir and John Digweed.) Their track "Heaven Scent" is an absolute masterpiece. They will be releasing 21 original tracks for the soundtrack to a movie called "Stark Raving Mad."
Sasha's debut artist album, Airdrawndagger, will be released in the U.K. next month, and in the U.S. the following month. I've heard it and it's excellent. His 4 track EP, Xpander, is also very good.
Hybrid and Quivver (John Graham) are other great electronic artists. Both are known for their amazing remixes.
Oh yeah, to be fair, the track included with iTunes the author spoke of is not produced by Sasha + John Digweed. It's "Tyrantanic" by Breeder (remixed by Slacker.) Sasha + Diggers just used it on their "Communicate" Mix CD.
Talk to them. Let them throw their entire sales pitch to you. Act interested and ask them as many questions as you can think of. Keep them on the phone for as long as possible and then tell them you're not interested. Time is the only asset they have that you control. If You just hang up or block them, and they'll move on to the next potential customer, but if you waste as much of their time as possible without buying whatever they are selling, you'll do much more damage to their business. I did this for a few months and now I almost never get telemarketing calls. I kinda miss hearing that enraged "WHAT?" whenever I keep them on the phone for 30 minutes and then say I'm not interested.

When will she realize that there's more to creating music than money?
There's nothing more to it as far as she and the RIAA are concerned. Oh sure, they cry all about artists' rights and creativity and such, but they really meant "We want more money! More money! Now, now, now!"

even if it were still legal to buy foreign hardware when this crap passes, it wouldn't last for long. once Big Corporate found out, it would only be a matter of time before they bought some more politicians and put the rest of the world out of business.
it's painfully obvious that campaign contributions decide our laws. i stopped buy CDs a long time ago because of the gov't-sponsed shutdown of napster, so now if this law passed, i guess i have to stopped buying movie tickets and DVDs. it appears my only recourse against the billionaire entertainment industry is to cut them off completely. i know i'm mostly alone in this, but it sickens me to think some hollywood trouser-stain is buying politicians with my movie money.
my motivation for not buying CDs is the tyrannical RIAA and it's bullying tatics. i shall be damned if i'm ever going to buy another CD from any artist or record company that has even the slightest affiliation with RIAA. they get nothing from me but spite.

Given the palladium implementation, we'll be lucky if they play at all.
