As I recall, ranchers typically put a mule with sheep. Predators are less likely to attack because of the mule.
Can't open source work as a mule to help the "sheep"? Firefox is popular because is less exposed than IE and it's great that it's getting exposure.
If there was some sort of easy to use firewall for the non-XPSP2 crowd ( a quick Google lists a few). Let's get some of the advocacy (and deveopers) behind it that worked so well for Firefox. If it works well, people might even consider going fully FOSS for their next computer.
Frontline is nearly always worth watching. A few years back, they did a story about Mad Cow disease being caused by prions, and it was the scariest thing I'd ever seen on TV, and it was real.
Once the x86 architecture switch is complete, the hard part is over, and Apple is free to use other products from, e.g., AMD, as do many other x86 vendors.
Wasn't there supposed to be a big speed increace from using Intel's compiler instead of GCC? If they move to AMD later down the road, is XCode going to make SUPER-Universal-Fat binaries with PPC/Intel/AMD versions?
Ugh!
Not trolling - Mac user for 5 years! And hope to be one for another 5.
That was like a real leap
beacuse if that puppet had not worked
the whole film would have been down the tubes
it just, you know woulda been a disaster, it would've been a silly little muppet...
the whole movie would've collapsed under the weight of it.
Peter Jackson says essentially the same thing about the CGI Gollum/Smeagol in the LotR:TT bonus feature.
If you've haven't seen Cadillac desert, watch it. One of the stories had to do with Central Valley growers having to pay for the water they used. That's right is used to be free.
Consumption went down when they had them pay a reasonable price for the water, and now they're some of the most efficent users of water out there.
I think Apple went after a Chinese (or Taiwanese?) company a few years ago for its bondi blue iMac lookalike....but they seem to have a more favorable view of add-ons like this one that resemble the original product without performing the same functions (the huge iPod accessory market is further proof of their leniency to accessories that piggy-back off their designs without directly competing with them).
As you say, Apple shouldn't have any problem with this. I'd rather they spend time putting more goodness into the OS and H/W than coming up with accessories than this.
Agreed. I used to hate the new XP interface in its entirety. I've warmed up to that part of it now that I've upped the number of apps to 9 instead of the usual 4. (same for Office since about '97)
Jukt! I heard abouth them at a H4xxor Convention, you know the one in Bethesda. They're a MAJOR software company. I can't seen to find a URL for them though.
I believe gas (mostly diesel, actually) delivered to farms don't pay taxes. Or at least a lot less tax.
Since tractors, combines, et al., accumulate most of their miles in the field it makes sense.
If you're gonna whine about it, hey, you gotta eat!

Probably like crap since they're using Intel's compiler, which surely won't run as well on an AMD.

I had a strange image of Ballmer hopping around with a lightsaber shouting "Developers! Developers! and accidently cutting off McNeely's head.
I think the Mac mini has done more to hurt the price of used Mac desktops than the switch to intel ever will. For general use, of course.
Only until the greed of the TW board of directors is enough to make the memories of the AOL "merger" disappear. then it shall happen.
Given the big cash wad Sun got from MS, that may not be far from the truth.
Look like it's also available for BeOS, so it isn't Mac Only.

Worked for me...
Quadro FX 500/600, Win 2k. Firefox
DNA?
Actually on the low end PMs it's 1/3 clock.

I'me sure OS/2 Warp delayed Win95. Workplaceshell is still a better interface than XP is even today, IMHO.
Of course, the market felt differently.

Folder windows still suck.
I find OS X to much better (but not perfect).
Is the 8x drive on the most recent eMac the same drive?
I bought one about 9 months ago, and that would be SO NICE!
No no no. It isn't confusing at all. This is from the same people that brought you EMS and XMS memory back in the Win 3.x days
Didn't Lucas also get dropped from the DGA because he had no opening credits in Star Wars (ANH)?

:-)
Do you happen to have a URL?
Thanks,
The Fabulist

Until 3 years ago was the SATANS. Seriously.
I bought an eMAc, do you really think I have money for an external drive? :-)
