Judging from the images, they could have benefitted from use of evacuated glass bulbs containing resistance-heated tungsten filaments, arrayed in quantity such that the pictures aren't so *damned dark*. (They can afford 52 CMOS sensors, but where's the friggin lighting?)

DSLR users, raise your hands if you've had problems with keeping dust off of the CCD. This seems to be a significant bugaboo among online reviews of these cameras, and before I buy one, I'd like to know how big a problem it really is.

I have two P&S digitals, neither of which work. One is on a slow boat back to its maker for warranty repairs. Thus, I'm looking at alternatives.

At a previous job, the security admin ran a cracker against the passwords periodically, to see if people were using 'easy' passwords. Certain patterns emerged:

Kid, wife and pet names were widely used. Nothing new there.

The entire company used f*ck and s*ck in combination with the company's name.

The employees at the Dutch subsidiary included 'sex' in their password so frequently that the 'sex' count became a running gag with this procedure.

And there are just some things you don't want to put in your password. A husband and wife worked at the main location, and while the hubbie's pwd didn't say much, the wife's basically read "123byebyehubby". Wonder if they're still together, hehe.

Problem is, Fry's doesn't exist everywhere. Best Buy is more of a national chain than Fry's.

Since everyone else is piling on, I'll just add that I haven't been to Best Buy in 3 years. Back then, inadequate surge protection lead to a dead stereo receiver, so I went to Best Buy to get a replacement. Compared the ones on the shelf, on my own, found a winner, grabbed it, and started for the door. Halfway to the front, this skinny little blue-shirted BB weasel starts gabbing at me, and it's clear that not only is he trying to get the extended warranty sale, he's trying to get his employee code (or whatever it is) onto my purchase. I told him I didn't need his help, pushed past the little fucker, got to the front, bought my item, and never went back.

Mean-spirited? "Bad customer?" Hey, I went there to BUY ONE ITEM, no more, no less. If BB's sales model requires that salespeople annoy me, then screw BB.

Your post reminds me of the scene in 'Men in Black' where Tommy Lee Jones holds up some new mini-uber-format disc and says "Guess I'll have to buy the White Album again." (referring to an old Beatles collection). I have a ton of stuff on vinyl that, while I'd like to update some of it, I either don't have that big an urge to, or the music is too old to show up on CD.

And aside from the time spent in my car, I don't have time to sit around and listen to music during the day. Either work, play or other modes of entertainment compete for that time, and music ain't holding up well in that battle. p.s. having been born in 1963, I'm a borderline Boomer, even if I don't relate to that demographic much.
