Most people can receive 5 channels via aerial, approx. 30 using a freeview digital decoder. Sky via satellite delivers more channels than I care to remember and my cable service delivers practically the same only by cable (with cable modem:) )
I've seen quiet a few pc's with card readers builts into the spare 3.5inch drive bay recently. Usually multi format card readers - compact flash, smart media and whatever the other formats are... much higher capacities, not too expensive - I can pick up 32mb smart media for about 10gbp.
Bottom line is, Qt isn't free, no matter how many times they give it to KDE developers for free with GPL attached to it. It's still not free.
IMO thats KDEs biggest, perhaps only weakness when compared to Gnome. I'm a KDE user, but looking at Gnome. I develop bespoke windows apps (mainly VB) and I can see that the KDE licensing issues will be a pain for companies developing bespoke app software - Gnome is much nicer in this respect.
Point is, Trolltech only makes you pay a license if you're developing for a non-free OS. Since Linux is free, then even if you develop for KDE and release GPL stuff, and you do so commercially, you still don't pay Trolltech a license. iirc. I could be wrong about that, which would sink my whole point.
actually... I believe soccer was the original name in use in the UK, formed from the original of Association Football (as opposed to Rugby Football and other forms of the game).
Think this link describes it all (haven't checked... too tired...)...

I'd agree with kde apps dropping the 'k' from their names, the kde menus are 'polluted' due to every app starting with the letter 'k'. When looking for an app on the menu, it takes longer since you have to scan down the menu for the next item then move along a letter and start reading...
what about V2's (early US rocket program)? <tongue firmly in cheek/>

ATG came up with a similar idea some time ago - doesn't look like they've got as far as a prototype yet tho - their design is a more usual blimp shape rather than spherical mind...
I've always avoided buying a console as I prefer playing strategy games (XCom, Civ etc), my impression is that consoles tend to be better for 'action' games and PC's are better for strategy and simulations.

I had an issue not so long ago when an RPM (php or apache I think) had extra (unnecessary) dependencies - caused RHN to install 5/6 extra packages which weren't needed, otherwise it's been fine.
a recent visit to the Science Museum in London revealed many Acorn BBCs/Masters still running various demos - as per my last visit about 15 years ago... (probably not the same machines mind...)
interestingly a large number of NT based demos were not running due to DHCP errors - many of them displaying the errors prominently on huge projectors...

ISTR that a senior European MS chap once went on record as admitting that allowing piracy in these sorts of instances actually benefitted them (can't quote sources... can't remember) - people became familiar with their products which created demand for licensed version in the workplace etc.
a klingon would pop up with the infamous "I can see my house from here" quote.
Btw, (off-topic ) does OS X run in VMWare?
Don't believe so, VMWare isn't an emulator, it wouldn't emaulate the Mac processor/hardware etc.

VMware is an excellent product - on both Windows and Linux, but the Windows version just looks and performs better (in a UI sense).
