A lot of games are TCP based... World of Warcraft for example. Even games that arent exactly TCP are typically a reliable messaging system on top of UDP that pretty much mimics TCP.
With that said, I cant see how this network card could reduce your latency by more than 1ms or 2ms round trip. Latency isnt introduced because your PC is stupid, its introduced because you're waiting the time it takes for packets to travel to your ISP, to its ISP, to its ISP, down to its child, down to its child, and back to some other PC, and having to interact with the 20 routers, gateways, and switches along the way. Most switches use something called Hold and Forward (I might have the name wrong...) which listens for the whole packet, reads the header information, and then passes it along, rather than writing the bits as they come in like a hub does... (Please dont read into this and think hubs are better:P )
It doesn't really matter what happened to the name 'techtv' because the best part of the station is still alive and well in webcast form. Check out http://www.dl.tv/ its pretty good for hearing about new gadgets coming out and getting the 'big news' of the day. Plus its free!
Last week, Mr Bakker took his first group of "gamers", as he calls them, on a parachuting trip to take their minds off their computers.
Ohh! gamers huh? Thats a pretty good name that you just came up with Mr. Bakker!!! (In his defence, I'm sure its the fault of The Australian and their staff)
AMD apparantly cannot multiply. 4x4 = 16. The 4x4 architecture is two dual-core CPUs on a single motherboard (2x2=4 cores). This is pretty damn annoying and I wish they would rename it to something a little more accurate to whats going on...
If you have a Dual 7950's (which are each just two 7900's), you wouldnt call it 4x4.
They are NOT taxing Peer-2-Peer VoIP calls, only if the call talks to the actual switched telephone service. I know everyone hates taxes, but really Vonage and the rest were using a loophole to not pay the taxes. All regular telephone calls have the tax applied as a percentage of all revenue generated by long-distance calls and a part of DSL service.
"Ask them [members of the younger generation] HOW the things work, and they have no idea. They are really riding on the backs of the 'old folks' like us that built the goodies they enjoy.""
Do the same thing to the old folks. They dont know either. Of course some punk ass kid on a skateboard doesnt know how stuff works, hes retarded. A generation does not invent, select individuals do. Remember, people are stupid.
Dinner Delivery Plus is a service available to Seattle and surrounding areas. You put in an order and they go around to the place you want it from and pick it up. The only bad thing bout this service is the cost... They charge probably 15-20% on each order. Sometimes its worth it though if you really want something in particular and cant go pick it up. They have been around for at least a few years and have a ton of places to order from.
I'm not sure if Sodium is flammable or not, it probably is at very high temperatures, but usually people get it too close to water to ever find out.:) ( Na + H20 = NaO(2?) + H2 ) Basically the reaction gives off so much heat that the resulting H2 ignites, at least when exposed to water in large enough quantities.

I agree, so what if half of the people that see the show are employed, there is absolutely no way that they skipped the ENTIRE DAY OF WORK.
It really is a shame that figures like that actually make it into print. Its all FLUFF, just complete meaningless crap.
Captain Oats and Princess Sparkle are totally gonna hook up and do it.
Last episode Seth and Summer kissed, so now its only a matter of time before they bring their plastic companions into the mix:)
I've downloaded and watched every episode of The OC, Desperate Housewives, Everwood, Mad About You, and Deadwood... all commercial free and usually available the day after the episode airs. Its better quality (I dont have an HDTV), more convenient, and I can backup all my shows on DVD+Rs for later viewing. I would definately cancel my cable provider if it wasnt for my roommates:P
I'm actually a graduate student at DigiPen, I graded from dP with my Bachelors two semesters ago and will be getting my Master's degree in about 5 months. I'm currently the only "real" graduate student (We have 11 others who are currently taking undergrad credits to 'catch up' to the degree) and will be the first to graduate for a year.
The degree is actually an MSCS, only with a focus on graphics and game programming. Keep in mind dP is NOT a game design school, we focus on graphics programming and other game-related programming topics. My thesis topic is actually about optimizing server farms for MMO's. Other topics I've studied are pixel and vertex shaders, advanced ray casters (shadows, complex shapes, reflection, refraction, transmission, texturing), 3d animation techniques, and I took an independent study two semesters ago where I made a simplistic MMO that had a sustained 10,000 players (AI controlled remote players).
Sound credible enough to you?;)
I recently graduated from a bachelors degree and went out looking for a school to get a Master's from... Unfortunately when I went out, a lot of the schools requested that I got work experience first...
So dont forget to mention that you've been WORKING for five years, it really will help you get in.
Obviously you dont have a lot of experience teaching computer-idiot people how to do basic things...
They dont know what "IE" is. They dont know what "Firefox" is. And the worst part is they dont care.
I do exactly what parent said, install Firefox and remove all IE icons, and tell them the icon to get on the internet looks different now.:P

Apparantly I have to be female even to read the post... :(
Honestly though, I would love to see more women in my work place.
In that case, shouldnt it be 93 million * 5 * 365 = ~170 billion text messages a year?
What, are they trying to say that Americans dont have the text messaging skills that they do??
93million * 5 = 465 million text messages. Not 700. Is this their sly little way of calling text message whores?
"Oh, their americans, so they MUST text message twice as much as we do!"
Now -THAT- is fat.
I cant even come CLOSE to that... She has so much dedication. We can only strive to be more like her.

I think the knife has a longer range than this thing.
They should use some of the technology for cold fusion to accelerate small metal plates into things... That would be hella fun!
girls have boobs.

I always wondered why they would want to use the visible spectrum...
We *CAN* make Laser-Radio waves! They go through atmosphere and trees and buildings....
