Ok.. so we need an "anti-digg", where you bookmark a site and tag it with negative tags... then abrowser plugin to set your browser to have a threshold of allowed "badness".. the finally a "meta filter" on google to strip out results from crap you don't want.
I was once reprimanded by an employer for standing my ground on the fact that a badgenumber+SSN was not a good idea for a login id. grumble grumble. I left the place soon after and have never listed it on my resume.
Perhaps it is from EMP from all the wires/power/machines that run up the wall *to* the tower, not the tower itself.
Would it be possible for multiple low frequency signals to interact to form a sine wave of a much higher intensity?... so the tower puts out a pulse that's too small to affect genetic replication (say 10% of the threshold), but there are other EMP signitures or emmisions in the area that compound (say 5 sources at 10%), followed by personal cell phones and computers and lights...
so you could 99.999% of the time have these signals never amount to much until the proverbial "EM Seventh Wave" comes in and makes those brain cells start dividing wrong. It only takes one cell to seed a tumor.
Cyberpunk was a better game once they got into the big book edition and the orbital stuff. Shadowrun was for folks who couldn't get out of the DnD mindset and play a sci-fi game.
oh, oh its like 1989 all over again, the competetive spending, the silly technology built merely to demonstrate intellectual muscle , the ideologies in struggle... can't resist...
"Mr Gates, tear down that firewall"!
I wonder if there will be a coup attempt @ microsoft? (or google for that matter).
Carrying the metaphor to another extreme, I wonder if a heirarchical organization could spring up inside Google - the way modern Christianity overpowered the more decentralized Gnostic-style versions?
thats why I've already started giving away some of my software for free with support. By signing a support agreement, my tools can be licensed for use for free by your company... I'm not selling them, you can't tax them.
This won't be true forever.
Companies that pride themselves on quality have given Wally World the heave-ho, choosing to create lasting quality goods instead of cheap crap.
Do back bridges.. just try and get your back off the ground for the first week, then work up to holding for a few seconds, then to getting your head up off the floor. After two weeks, you'll have better posture, and your back will feel better.
My kids recently dusted off a PS1 and an old Sega, and love the games. Sure they think the graphics stink, but they like how simple and fun many of the games are. Doctor Mario anyone?
No, they were good. To win the war in heaven - God needs good souls. The good ones he wants now - so their souls stay pure, the evil ones he wants to live, so they have a chance of repentance. If the evil ones die, they become enemy soldiers. "Only the good die young" is an after-life win-win!
I have probably made over $1000 in the past year in $35.00 incriments just running adaware, hijackthis and spybot for people around town, and then recommending firefox. Probably 10 times that amount for my commercial clients.
I used to run them on my box all the time, until I put firefox on... now I run them once a month or so - mainly for giggles and a healthy dose of paranoia. Clean.
I use a tool I built to manage all the problems and solutions that I run in to.
I kept running into a problem every few months, and forgetting what I did to solve it last time, so I built my knowledge base.
Anyone have photo recgnition software that might look for the "raised circle" in a ring foot print and then wander over the map looking for interesting locations. You could use that database as a great testbed.

Hell, Traveller was better.
Instead of the dot, how about an uptick? You have to lift the pen once you get to the top, but its faster than darkening an oval
Always kinda wondered when microkernels would be abstracted out as a bus where processor/code modules literally plug into...

Because we all know the world was peaceful and tolerant before PONG started the downfall of civilization.

LithoBreaking, Its not just for Mars anymore!
Perhaps that should be caseibreaking? (stopping by use of cheese)
I suppose "slightly less doom" in the world is reason to celebrate too.
"Ahh.. but he's only stabbing me in *ONE* eye with an icepick now!"

Man in the middle attacks can be quite literal.
Agreed.
Hmm.. I use firefox.

When will they learn?
oops meant to say "Forget Spaceships".... I'd be interested in materials science that could be possible in low gravity fields.
How about creating foam metals in a low gravity field?
So if I build a website for close-up shots of orchids, will it get banned?

I haven't used my battery-of-the-month club card in years!
That being said, still seems a bit far fetched.
