  1. Registration.. on Shatner Aims for Real 'Star Trek' · · Score: 2, Insightful

I wonder when nations will begin requiring national registration for spacecraft (ie - HMS Bounty)... I know the shuttles are "Registered" as US planes, but VSS implies that Virgin is vying for "autonomy" as a space venture. So is "The Corporation" (ala Aliens Trilogy) Virgin,Inc.?

  2. Traveller on To Mars and Back in Ninety Days · · Score: 1

Traveller by GDW had all sorts of formulas.. you go half way balls out, turn the ship around half way and throttle back up again... you get a nice quick trip, and arrive at orbital speed.

  3. The problem is... on SCO To Counter Groklaw With 'Fair' Coverage · · Score: 1

The problem is that you just have to put the "pro-sco" meme out there, and it will lodge in some PHB brain, and force the underlings to repeat it in meetings.. and so the meme grows. Its sort of like the "any press is good press" idea. With the Microsoftie meme closely allied against the Open-Source meme, many offices will follow the sco thought... a shame, but true.

What they didn't know, was that (like all good sci-fi comics prior to the graphic novels of the late 80's) there was only one way to unlock the door of the secret super evil overlords of darkness... and that was a 6 qubit register!

  7. How I miss.. on Smart Cars Coming to Canada and U.S. · · Score: 2, Interesting

How I miss my Subaru Justy, not quite as efficient as this, but a great little car. I would get 50mpg+ if I drove on the interstate and occassionally got behind a semi.

A baby should be loved and cuddled, held, and all that. Don't think its just a server that needs to be "monitored". How about *BEING* with your child. I imagine you also want one of those car seats that is a stroller, feeding chair, etc so you won't need to actually HOLD your child.
Want a good bond with your kid that will last thru all the stupid teenage hijinks? Hold them as an infact, talk to them, tell them stories.. you need LOW tech, not high tech.
