That thing is clunky! For a little bit more, I'd rather get one of these and put in one of these. It would be thinner, have 6gb (removable, too), a more powerful processor, and a VGA screen.
I'll bow to science but not to... proofs by repeated assertion.
Is that not what you are doing? Show me where you get your "facts"- If science is so important to you, show me where in scientific fact you base your claim. Saying "common sense" is on your side is meaningless. Just because Democrats are outnumbered in Texas doesn't make the few Democrats that are here any less liberal than your average American Democrat (Massachusetts Dems likely being more liberal than average).
H.264 should take care of the network bandwidth issues. Encoding it real-time is extremely intensive, however the cell processor in the PS3 should have no difficulty with it. If the software is done well and everything goes as planned, The PS3 may indeed end up being more popular as a videoconferencing vehicle than a gaming machine.
I'm kinda wondering if the PS3 is going to do this. Sony has been rather close w/Apple lately, and the PS3 is supposed to have input for an HD camera, as well as Gigabit Ethernet & 802.11 b/g built in...
why do y'all gotta bitch about dupes all the time? this isn't really a capital-N News site, it's a community. It's like the nerd table in high school. The articles serve as fodder for conversation- hypothesizing about the future, bitching about MS or whatnot, making stupid jokes, etc. So, sometimes people come back to the same topic, and even rehash the same arguments. Get over it!
sorry, but i don't think any of the C64 games are engrossing any more. they're fun to play every now and then for nostalgia's sake, but due to technological restrictions alone they don't have the depth of gameplay that more modern systems have. i agree with your point on PS1 vs PS3, though, however the PS2 & 3 add the element of networkability which significantly changes the dynamic of the games, and it looks like they're setting up the PS3 to be an HD videoconferencing device, which is insanely cool...
hey asshat- let's see you quote a statistical study to back up your claims. otherwise you're just talking out your ass.
how about i make a stupid generalization like people named dillon are nose-picking, booger-eating morons, and then tell you that you can't say that's not true just because you don't know any. show me a statistical study, dillon, you booger-eater, you!
i believe that the burden of proof is on you, since you made the original assertion.
WTF? Where do you get that? I know many democrats here in Texas, none of whom own guns, support the death penalty, are against abortion, or gay marriage, or anything like that. In fact, the few Democrats that are in power down here aren't like that. You're on crack and talking out your ass...
Actually, I'm a Democrat, in Texas, and I supported what they did. Some called it being whiny bitches, but I think they did what they had to do to at least draw attention to what the Republicans have been up to. It was a joke. Laugh...

Brilliant!
Just how big of a loss are Sony and MS willing to take with their consoles this time around?
Maybe the better question is Just how much profit are the video card manufacturers making?
dammit! i said </i>! did someone forget the </i> tag?!
did someone forget the tag?

I actually agree with you!
have you seen voltron since growing up? i don't know how i ever even thought that made sense!
I dunno, because maybe the editors could be bothered to read their own damn site once in a while if we complain enough?
... it's becoming more the exception than the rule.
CLEARLY, that has been disproven. I don't think y'all could bitch about it any more than you do, and it clearly isn't working.
There are occasions where slashdot feels like a community
probably because it's overrun with whiny bitches like yourself...

A balky Russian oxygen generator broke down
I thought Balky was from Meepos?
riiiidiculus!
with some nifty features that the Xbox 360 doesn't have (Bluetooth, 1080i).
no, that's 1080p

this is macrumors here after all
uh, dude- this is slashdot. macrumors' site is a lot prettier. it really isn't that hard to distinguish them...

duh. i was making fun of it.
(in pain staking detail)
painstaking?
pains taking?
pane steaking?

Hey- I'm a Texas Democrat, and I resent that. I'm as much of a Democrat as one from Boston, New York, Seattle, or San Francisco.
Just speak in code that makes your communications look banal.
Hey, Joe what's up? I'm walking my dog in the park tomorrow at noon...
Texas Democrats? Exiled in New Mexico? :)
...or it could create giant mutant crabs...
