And that attitude is why we often have crap for interfaces.
Don't discount the end user, your customer, as they are lot smarter than you about their job and do know what they need. You don't. You don't have a f-ing clue what the customer needs to get their job done. And that you think you do just proves it.
the *best* interfaces i have ever seen were when they pulled end users out of their jobs for a few weeks and made them sit with the developers, and made the coders actually listen and work with the users, instead of against them.
End users should be designing the interfaces, as what is 'apparent' to a developer isn't to the rest of the world. They 'think' computers, but the average Joe on the street just wants a working appliance
They may end up moving to i2p or freenet before its all over, but i disagree their days are numbered. They will adapt and only their public facing days are in question...
Not if they are making those sorts of demands of me. Same goes for any other "activity". If they are demanding i give up my privacy to make them happy, I'm gone.
You are screwed either way, so personally id take the safer route of just deleting it. If anyone asks, 'it was offensive, and i didn't look that closely before i deleted it to even know it was underage'.
Oh, and some of us have much, much more music than will even begin to fit onto a 32GB `smartphone`.
Right, and we stream the files from home, where we don't have to worry about someone searching thru them on some public server, to see what we have that they can nail us to the wall with.
Yep. That is coming soon, and the only way to truly stop P2P in its tracks ( and is damned easy ).. The only time you can use your bandwidth is if you download from your ISP's approved servers. ALso, isn't this how it works down in Australia now?
Of course when this happens widespread, that's when wifi mesh will take off.. An even more bleak future for the 'industries' who are trying to stamp sharing out.
It has plenty of scientific, beneficial uses as well.
Most things do, but that doesn't mean its used that way and if you trust the Federal Government to not expand its use, then you are living in a dream world.
if so, expect to be helping the new guy for months. One day of training the new guy isn't going to be reality. Did you figure it out in a day? did all your projects take a day?
if you are moving to a different company, expect phone calls, that you can always refuse or ask for a fee..
But ya, if you were not documenting as part of normal practice, document it all now..

They could have spun this to 'we care about our customers health' instead of ' we just want to avoid some stupid government label'.
its election season.
Some places do hire a PI during the hiring process, but those jobs are rare and often involve security clearances.
That said, id still walk if they asked to look at any of my *private* accounts.

Why ASK for trouble?
How does it compare to vmware? Huh? Those are different tools to solve different problems and work differently.
Why not compare iPads to cars too?
My newton did this decades ago.
If you want a more current example of handwritten annotation on existing PDF documents, look at the now defunct 'entourage' tablet products.
No, neither were. Perhaps by name i guess, but not by intent, and will return in more subversive ways.
Trust no one. This is rule #1 if you are doing anything shady.

Because at some point due to the lack of standards conformity by content providers your older browser will be pretty useless.
I agree, its not *THE* answer, but *darknets* are A answer. The key is which question you are asking.
While its true that a darknet is by nature closed, for some communities that is the end goal in the first place.
When i played with Retroshare it was quite happy with either DNS or IP addresses.
It was nice to share stuff between friends easily, without having to waste space on my home server.

Really.. its not your machine, don't screw with it.
They need to monitor and control their vendors/contracts/etc better.
if so, that's the breaks. If not, then there should be contractual SLAs and penalties involved.

Great idea, but if i cant have it local, then no thanks. I don't want to rely on something that is being hosted by another party.
They lose interest, poof there goes my work.
So when will one step up and make a name for him/her self and stop this crap once and for all?
Put the bastards out of business. Please Include Google in the suit.
