Not that i buy into the whole carbon footprint nonsense, but this is NOT neutral. you have to make the stuff, transport it, install it, and dispose of it eventually. that all factors in to the *total* cost of ownership. ( or footprint, if you are into that stuff )
How do you know it wasn't a return? ( tho to be fair, even sealed you still don't know 100%. i got burnt like that once, another company took a return, resealed it and sold it as new, even tho what was inside the box was a far older item, covered in years of dust. )
What does that do to the warranty? What else did they install that you don't want?
In general, yes. I have been in the business for a long time and have seen the slow progression of this already. What took a team of people is now done by end users...
Sure there will be IT people, but the numbers will be vastly reduced, and wont pay as much either....
I would have closed down shop due to acts like this. Collective bargaining is a good thing and should be encouraged. Acts of intimidation from either side are not and there should be *severe* consequences.
This is not the 'old days' where this sort of behavior was common practice between unions and 'management' when people 'turned the other cheek'. This is 2011 and should not be tolerated, at all.
I meant that in a general sense, not specific so this would also include gmail, gdocs, market, etc. Too bad you cant easily uncouple android from those services.
Time for an open distributed search engine too. ( tho that might already exist.. )
Sounds like they have grown too large and really don't care what their 'customers' think ( yes, i know their *true* customers are the companies who advertise, but you get my point ). Time to find another "service" provider.
That practice is different than *planning* to give you reduced performance where the chip has been tested higher. With the intent to charge you to get full use.
Now if down the road they learn new ways of doing things, and offer new firmware, cool. But intentionally selling you a crippled device is just wrong in my book.

While ill get yelled at for this, it would be nice if it had a forms developer too. ( and no, not tied just to winforms )
Second, unless this IDE is cross platform it will HURT not help python programming.
Like ironpython hurt real python? Instead it just went away as most python people don't want or need a platform dependent version.
For good reason. The ribbon sucks and is NOT more efficient.
it was fun while it lasted.
Oh well, i hear a new movie about the moon is coming out.
No, its not arbitrary. High noon is still high noon. Calling it something else is just appeasing the idiots who dont actually go outside.
Then why wasn't their ISP shut down? They were enabling it as well.
Geez, wipe the darn thing and install Linux.
Sure, most of us around here can undo any damage in any number of ways, but the average citizen would have no clue they may have just got screwed.

That and the economy.
And in every car, home and business.
While i think Steve is a Jerk and have never been fond of him, he cared about his company and gave it direction.
Last time he left the company just wandered around in a fog. I would expect that to happen again this time.
No matter how much market you control, if you don't have leadership you can kiss it good bye.
Disclaimer: I like apple, always have, and will still be a fan as i watch them slowly disintegrate.
You can grab a bunch of like minded friends, and invent games yourself.
And with luck, you can use the tips from the fitness magazine with your group of friends.
At least it wasn't people.
yes a private entity has that right.. but we also have the right to bitch and moan about it.

Cool, wont run as long and break more easily. .what a deal.
With a smaller battery :(
I doubt he owns a cable box. Since they are leased.
And BSD is dying...

Building in limitations is just wrong.
