Either way, still seems a bit odd to me that someone would decide whether or not anyone is worth conversing with on any topic based on just this one snippet of ancient history. Maybe that's just me though.
See that is a trap, i never said you had to agree solely about my feeling about Booth being a patriot ( for the record i base this on him willing to give his life for his country, even if his country was short lived ), but what i state in general.
I agree that not *everyone* can, but clearly the people that are spending $300 to buy THIS box are the same group that could.
However, i disagree that *most* cant. if you can figure out how to write an image to a USB flash or CD, and follow a few really simple steps, you could to create your own functional pfsense box. If you cant later do the advanced stuff, you wont be doing it with $300 dollar dedicated consumer network hardware either, so both routes are really pointless for you.
It is simply not a reasonable assumption in the US that people are capable of properly aligning their lights
I take it you live where there are not yearly car inspections. Many states do this, and they check brightness and alignment, among other things. ( or at least did when i still lived in one of those states ).
Regardless tho, you don't correct a problem with compliance by restricting MY rights to do something. People are killed by improper driving, do you also propose eliminating cars?
Do you want a 5-10 year old device hard-wired into your car 5-10 years from now?
The plan is you wont have that car 5-10 years. 1 or 2 year trade-ups, perhaps with a subsidy to keep you on contract... BYOC will be frowned upon.
Joking aside i do remember a time when many people would simply trade up every year or so, and once the car was not new, the dealers really could have cared less.
It sounds like a good idea for some cases, like for custom in-game currencies, and for 'private groups' of people.

Those spending that much on the WRT should be able to roll their own..
Restricted by law, not practice.
Too bad its not the entire product line, the resource sucking hog that it is.

Yes, John Wilkes. No, the war really wasn't about slavery.
Is this a joke? There is only one law: Win, or you are conquered.
I assume games are still restricted.
Or are afraid to ask, since they assume it also lets in all the 'bad stuff'.
The question is why are you even asking this question.. of course it was part of the plan.
This should be clearly illegal and i hope they get slapped down for this as its anti-competitive.

Yes you can, but at the $300, my own box would already have storage included.
Time to find a new dentist. If he doesn't understand his tools, no thanks.
No, its a stupid project. Pick one (or two), and become proficient. That would be a worthwhile project.

Many states in the USA do this too.
Yikes. Could build a really small fan-less PC and run pfsense on it AND have storage..
This is normal practice and has been since the beginning of electronic components in cars. What company wants to share its secrets with others?

I don't need or want a intelligent components when inexpensive, simple, proven and reliable mechanical components have done fine for decades.
Just because you can isn't always a valid reason.
Litigation.
Its not the brightness, its the focus and alignment that is the problem.
Then even less of a non-story.
I guess its a slow news day.
