    But what is really important is what is under the hood.. Look and feel is only part of the importance of KDE. It can look as pretty as a rose, but if its garbage underneath it wont matter much. ( not that it is garbage underneath, just making a point )

    We didnt screw up, we just didnt adapt fast enough ( didnt take the PC market seriously ).

    Not having control does intefere with users productivity, since they are incapable of doing it themselves.. The only way to regain that state of productivity is to go back to the old model, and take the 'comptuer' away from them so it can be managed properly. Then they can get back to actually doing THEIR work, and not pretending to be an admin.

    I agree totally..

    we arent talking about offering the option of a 2nd set of dirt roads everywhere and if you want to pay you get pavement.. It will end up being either you pay more, or your dirt road may lead you nowhere..

    Perhaps this is all by design and as we look closer EVERYONE is infected with something like this.. might beI how we survive... or part of how we evolved ( as in it wasnt just the meat ) One never truly knows the complexity of nature.

    A user doesnt need any more then just a terminal. Anything else is waste of resources.

    If alternatives become more common then Windows, then expect the same sorts of attacks.

    Sure, in theory the system level is more secure, but if something blows away user data, its still just as effective.

    And dont kid yourself, unix has holes too.. Just no one digs deep enough.

    Their 'service' is pretty dismal. I cant comment on distribution as we no longer include them in our approved vendor list.
