So.. when will Firefox get sandboxing? When will Firefox start up immediately rather than after clicking the icon and coming back after I make some tea? When will Firefox not crash because of a bug in Flash? When will Firefox stop using 200MB of RAM?
All the questions and more answered next week..
But we'll just say probably not any time soon since it's likely the Firefox developers wouldn't allow the code commits and feature reductions that would make it possible.
I wish Firefox would make it possible. And sandbox Add-ons for the sake of sanity, I want to see which ones are buggy and not have it crash my whole browser. I like Firefox, but I'm tired of it's problems and not being fixed. I still use it on my Linux computers, but I wish I would just bloody work.
I'm not a kid anymore, but people who underestimate kids are assholes. Is it just because they're jealous, or because they've honestly forgotten that they were kid once too, or that people under the age of 18 or whatever arbitrary age limit they impose are still Real People with minds of their own like the rest of us, well, like the few of us.
But if I know anything from working at a few tech companies, it's that the business people decided to kill it because the developers couldn't prove it's immediate profitiability. Business people tend to go with known evils over any unknown.
Do not buy M-Audio, it'll all end in tears. I've never used Turtle Beach, so I say try it and report back! EMU is also owned by Creative btw. There's other brands out there though, like Audiotrak, Edirol, TerraTec, and others.
Also check the www.kvraudio.com forums for other options, it's mostly musicians there, but it's therefore a good place to find audio gear suggestions.
Actually, I'm not sure the Third Reich was all that corrupt in comparison to the United States. Additionally, most "corrupt" countries and so on a small scale, you can bribe the cop to get out of a ticket, or whatever, politicians take kickbacks from drug lords.. but in the united states? No, we have corporations! The money a drug lord pays to the corrupt leaders around the world is pocket change to the money politicians in the US make off of corporations.
They're just more subtle about it through years of refinement.
Actually, this is Chicago, it's not all the subtle.. and it's not all corporations..
I've never seen the original. I've seen the directors cut and the final cut in theatres.
SEE IT IN THE THEATRE.
If you ever have a chance, see the final cut on the big screen, it will blow your mind. If I ever see the original version I'll make a new judgment on whether it improved the movie or not. Unless you really require the pandering of a narration, see the final cut. It's a beautiful movie, you deserve to see it this way. I wish I'd seen the final cut the first time.
Man you have no idea. I used to live in a warehouse on the south side of chicag0 between two railroad tracks (lovely place. really.) I only lived there for maybe 6 months, and in that time 3 diesels slammed into one of the railroad bridges, even though it was clearly labeled and was obviously too low. This usually happened early in the morning, so maybe the Jolt Cola hadn't woken them up yet.
Yeah, and it seemed like the games expected you to pick one. There were always things that were only for light side or dark side, few if any powerful objects were for greys. I've played KotOR 1 and 2 probably too much, but I get the most content and most options playing as a grey, especially in KotOR 2. Even though there were few items, and few allowances made for greys, there was certainly more story there. I don't know if it was intentional or just my style of play created the most options.
As far as actually playing as Light Side.. no one in the Star Wars universe (that I'm aware of) was that nice, not Yoda, not Ben, certainly not Luke. In fact Luke in the third movie was using Dark Side powers, wearing black, killing and kicking ass, and you know what? He was *still* the good guy. In the books that follow Episode VI Luke goes on to create a new school of jedi, I forget what it was called, the unified force or something, where they recognized the Force for what it is, just the Force, inherently neutral. It's the person that is good or evil.
As far Dark Side, hell, sometimes it Just Made Sense (tm), like when those beggars threaten you, tell you to give them money, dark side tells them to fuck off or die, light side gives them more than they ask for - encouraging the bad behaviour. Usually though, you're hassling little kids and weeping mothers, shooting yourself in the foot for a buck, pissing off people who could help you.
Next time you play a KotOR game, just think to yourself.. What Would Vader Do? Would Vader give half a shit about 20 credits from a bum? No, he'd throw his ass out of his way and keep walking.
I'm not looking forward to a KotOR MMO, it'll turn into SWG or Matrix Online (does anyone play that? Does it still exist?). But I am looking for KotOR III, and maybe KotOR 2.5 to finish up the last damn game (Team Gizka hear my cry.. LucasArts obviously doesn't).
As if I actually would have bought the iPhone. I've given AT&T about 50 bucks in my life (for a pre-paid phone for someone which was only going to be used for a couple of weeks). I don't buy products or services from companies that screw me or other people over. Good examples of this are Microsoft and Sony. You're not alone:)
No one is safe. Sure the old "axis" and "cold war" targets are first on the list, they're there to cause instant cultural flashbacks. But when that becomes old, they'll jump the people who didn't support them, who were obviously aiding the terrorists through inaction or directly.
And the republicans who supported it. And the justices who let him into office. And everyone else for not standing up against it. It's everyone's fault. Even we libertarians. Are we all together going to rectify this or bend over, grab our ankles and hope it's over quickly?
Here in Chicago, the cops are pretty cool, one of the things that makes them cool is you can pay them off to leave your dubiously illegal parties/concerts alone (no liquor license, no venue insurance, improper emergency exists for a meeting place, etc). I've had personal experience with this, but as far as I know only the mob and large gang families pay off anyone for real crimes anymore. Then again few places in the US are more corrupt than Chicago.

Firebug. If you don't know, learn.
Once there's a version for Chrome, it's all over for Firefox (for me).
You mean "Wait.. where were we going anyway?"
A product is not a monopoly, though a company could be.
However, the real issue isn't that they are a monopoly, it's that they are engaging in anti-competitive practices.
Apple is claiming a purchaser does not have the right to use two of it's products separately.
It's actually pretty common.
I've known a few people like that, close friends, family..
And you know what?
It's still damn funny.
You're kidding right?
What are they going to do?
Call the local hospital and say "I got an email from a crazy woman go pick her up"?
If the moderation system worked well they would have just ignored my comment.
Pointlessness was the point, though I'm sure you understand.
This is a pointless me too comment!
News that doesn't matter!
Mod me +4 funny!
Exactly!

Dear gods! I had all but given up.
GIVE ME MECHWARRIOR or DIE.
Er, yes. Achem.
If I say please?

You must be new here.
Blockbuster isn't doing to well either. Sinking ships seem to like to throw each other life rafts.

We're talking about STEAM, if they disable your account, you can't play your games.

Unfortunately, it is a valid comparison.
