    This is a very cool project in the tradition of what used to appear a lot on Slashdot. Hopefully it will inspire more people to something similar. One suggestion - howabout adding an IR interface to it so that it can be controlled with a remote? Just send the IR back to the server and let the SW on the server handle it.

    Here's a practical suggestion. Phoenix Technologies browser product is called FirstWare Connect. Anyone of us working for a company that is considering this product should do everything they can to sabotage the purchase and use of this product until Phoenix Technologies discontinues this stupid course of action. It has worked with other moron companies. On another note, didn't I just see that the open source BIOS is now working?

    You all sound like a bunch of blind men describing an elephant by touch. Some of you are describing the trunk as representing the whole, some are desribing a leg, some are describing the side. Unix and linux fits into many places in the telecom industry. Microsoft also fits in, but as the dung heap behind the elephant. Keep feeling.

    Sorry, Myriad Genetics, and any other clown who thinks they own the patent to the design of my body. Just because you reverse engineered a few portions of that design does not mean that you now control whether I can look at it or not. I think some massive civil disobedience on this whole patent issue and so called IP is in order until we get some politicions in place who can fix the present corrupt system.

    Can anyone point to some good websites for these things that would describe the hardware etc? I'm looking for something cheap to use for robot wireless links. Ebay has mass quantities of these things for around $15 USD.

    TV programming has gotten so polluted with Ad's, product placements, and other marketing garbage that it is becoming unwatchable except for viewers already brainwashed by the commercial producers. The end result is that TV is only good for putting money in the pockets of big monopolies and maybe for special interest propagandizing. The best thing for everyone else is to just turn it off.

    When I tried downloading it, Real Audio sent me a Java script that wanted the capability to do anything to any of my files. Giving Real Audio's reputation I refused to grant the permission to the Java script to do what it wanted. Is there anyway to just download a real audio player without turning my system over to Real Audio, Inc?

    My web logs are full of messages from already comprimised Microsoft Systems trying to break into my server. This is on a non-published web server on a non-Microsoft system. I can imagine the traffic load hit the internet is taking from all the infected Microsoft systems already out there, much less the new wave that will come from the XP vulnerabilities. Maybe since Microsoft is enjoying government protection for it's monopoly it's time for the government to do something about them.

    That is the problem with giving up even a little bit of our rights. Corporations like Microsoft will use their influence ($) to get the feds to do anything they want. Pretty soon we will have the RIAA wanting downloading mp3's declaired a terrorist activity and the right to search out computers whenever they want.
