1st person movie? for a 1st person shooter?

Why Game Movies Stink

· Score: 4, Funny
Wouldn't it be cool to have a 1st person movie (similar to a 1st person shooter)? Meaning, for like Resident Evil, Doom, etc. all we see is the gun in hand, the shots fired, and the blood splattering? That would make a great movie!
When I was applying to grad school in the midwest... I was told by a pair of CS Department Chairs and my own undergrad advisor that I had a an excellent chance at getting in... simply because there aren't many good young white american applicants anymore.
End of story... I got in, and quickly became a prof favorite... but there weren't many others around the department like me.
Customer: Hello MSFT? I can't get IE7 to work
Support: Let's check some basics, Is your computer plugged in?
Customer: yes
Support: Is your computer on?
Customer: yes
Support: Is your monitor on?
Customer: yes
Support: Are you running Windows XP?
Customer: yes
Support: Aha, I think I found your problem.
Same problem here... I've tried on multiple browsers
Opera, FireFox, and Internet Explorer... for both
simple and more difficult queries...
and all I get is... "Loading..."...
5 Minutes later... Loading
And I was actually curious as to what is
so special about their new Search engine
I work at a large bank... and if I forwarded on any of the mentioned emails in this article... I'd be out the door before the end of the day. Honestly, I wish I worked at their business!
This got modded as Funny... but in all reality there's probably a more serious side to it...
Yahoo! doesn't want to become the next establishment (like the Denmark newspaper) to cause extremists to riot.
The sad thing is that it seems like the extremists would be stupid enough to riot over something as silly as a Yahoo! username too...
If the information the government wanted was a matter of national security... Then yeah, google should hand it over immediately, no questions asked... But for pr0n and other irrelevant junk? The government should be focusing on more important stuff anyways... MS and Yahoo! are just playing butt kissers in handing it over right away.
If Google hasn't done anything wrong... then they shouldn't have to comply. Good job google. The only way they should get the data is if Google volunteers to give it.
What's the government thinking anyways? If they just tapped on Microsoft's shoulder I'm sure Bill would hand over all of MSNs search data.
After viewing this article... I felt it was skewed...
I believe that a large number of users don't understand that
you have to be ON THE INTERNET to CHECK YOUR EMAIL
so... when you ask them why they're on the internet, they
aren't going to respond... "to check my email"... they're
going to respond... "to play games, chat, etc."
It's kinda funny... my bank I work at just in the last few months of 2005 finally upgraded from Microsoft Office 97 And now MS unveils 2007:-)... whew... it we had waited a few months longer, we coulda claimed we were literally 10 years behind!!!
From my point of view... OSS is not doomed... but it needs to get some roots dug in...
And where, you ask should these roots start at?
OSS users / programmers / advocates must start at the smallest level, meaning Small Businesses and those young entrepenuers. It's the ideal target audience to hit because they can't afford the MS licenses, and other software fees... so if we get 1 or 2 OSS users / programmers / advocates jumping into these situations and voicing their opinion then sooner or later we'll start seeing all the small business using OSS and from there it can only grow... Cause if 1 or 2 of these small businesses blossoms into the next IBM, MS, eBay, whatever then you instantly have a large business using OSS... and once other large businesses stuck in MS he!! see that this new up and coming business is saving HUGE on thier software licenses & fees... the revolution will begin!
I personally find reading Slashdot more intriguing than playing solitaire... and when you're reading Slashdot at work it looks more like you're "researching" online... where as when you're playing solitaire it simply looks like you're not working.
My personal recommendation so that you don't get fired... just stick to reading Slashdot.
If I could MOD you up I would! Funniest thing I read all day...
The sad thing is, many Americans probably share a similar viewpoint... that the current Administration caused Global Warming...
I'd be willing to guess (although I won't be around long enough to find out) that we're just in some sort of cycle... it's warm now... but in a few hundred thousand years or so we'll be back to another ice age again!
I'll wait... just like I did with PS1 and PS2... a few months after it's out you'll probably see it for under $200 at Video Game Exchange, Rewind, FuncoLand, or some other Re-Sale game store. $350-$400, are you kidding!?!?

My Windows 95 machine could barely handle it
So that's when I upgraded to Windows 98.

... this will not fly ... and there will no no renaissance.
As discussed yesterday on Slashdot
Could somebody with power please post results like this somewhere that the general public would see?
Slashdot readers already know this!
This needs to be in USA Today, New York Times, on Fox News, CNN, local newspapers, local news, etc.
Then it would actually mean something.
