Because its soooooooooooooo hard to turn off a cell phone! Dear God! People might not be able to talk to you RIGHT NOW and you will have to call them back later! Next thing you know they will be telling us to turn off cell phones in movie theaters!

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Yes, there are people that get drunk and fall off cliffs or things like that, but they are usually out-of-towners. Attias was a psycho, not just some "drugged kid". About living arangments, all of Isla Vista is a slum, and yes you have to share a room, but its not a big deal. About STDs, get some statistics or studies on the subject or stop repeating an old joke. In Isla Vista you can party a lot, and study a lot, you just have to find a balance. IV rocks, I loved it during my time there.

definitely not econ majors here. If a computer replaces someone, it is likely because it is cheaper. The person that was fired gets a new lower paying job. The person has less money, but now due to the introduction of the computer, the products cost less too. Also, a large factor of the depression was a large reduction of the real money supply and a loss of consumer confidence. Also, if resources are traded for resources, isnt that just like how it is now, we just use money as a common trade unit? How will there be no taxes? Remember that there are only two things that are certain in life.....

Is there any Linux group out there that is trying to find out what these people did and how other educators might be able to learn from it? Education seems like an enviroment where Linux has a real chance since schools are on a budget and reletively independent. I think that people should focus on gathering information on this to help other educators do the same rather than bitch and complain about win vs. linux.

Why dont some of these projects that are getting attacked in the US move the projects to Holland? They seem to have a much more rational legal system there that we can see after the Kazaa ruling. How much effort does it take for an open source project like that to move? What maybe just get a dutch ISP? With the way the US is behaving, why dont people just move their projects overseas? In this wired world you could be based in another country but have people working from the states. If napster changed a few things around it seems like they could be legal in Holland and free from the US laws.
