I used to use VNC on my Psion 5mx through the Java VNC viewer. I did experiment using the IR link on my mobile phone to my Psion a few times to check e-mail with pine in an xterm. I upgraded to a Palm Zire71 after my Psion died and VNC is the one thing I'm missing most. If I get a bluetooth phone, I'll probably buy a bluetooth upgrade for my Palm (if one gets releases) to use VNC on my Palm rather than get a phone with the display built in.
I can see why a company will not want to provide multi-OS support officially, as if Linux changed they don't want the liability of having to support the changes. But, if someone in that company was already half written a driver, even if it is buggy as hell, surely they should give this away to the user community as a starting point rather than forcing people to reverse engineer their own solutions.
I work for a company that is based in San Diego but I'm based at a client in Stevenage, UK. I frequently take a day off from Stevenage and work at home over a VPN to the San Diego machines. I don't think I'd like to work from home full time, but it is great to have the option to do this.
Savings for the employer are that when there is a traffic jam or freak snow storm, the employee can continue to work from home.

I just read this on the BBC. I guess they will automatically arrest the people who get the best predictions as the perpetrators!

The big story should be about the air conditioning system for this baby.
When you buy a new device how long before new technology makes it rubbish? I'd like to see life expectancy warnings on products.

I read that at first as 5.0 Netscape coders...

Oh no it doesn't. I'm using Mozilla 1.3 and it works fine.
I'd love one of these but the cheapest UK retailer I can find it dabs where a Sharp SL5500 costs £233 or around $360. :(
