from what I understand that quote by Newton was also a dig at Robert Hooke, who was really short. It was in a letter to him, and they apparently had some... differences.
I'd say either keep it, or give it to a friend with a big closet. As soon as you get rid of it, you'll come up with some project or inherit some cool device and be all, "I know I had the right connector here somplace.. Curses! It was in the box I gave to goodwill!"
I don't really think Job is as much about Satan's struggle for mens souls as it is about divine punishment in this life, something fairly Jewish in concept. The whole salvation and hell dichotomy I just don't really see so much in the jewish faith.. Sin and punishment obviously are all over the place in the bible, but in the jewish tradition these are things that are punished during ones lifetime, or during the lifetimes of ones descendants.. i.e. in the material world. But then Job is a really difficult book, so I could be wrong.
As far as the whole judeo/christian thing goes, yeah I've heard it said that pretty much Jesus was preaching for the reformation of jewish law, and that pretty much the only people that should logically be christian are the descendants of messianic jews. The rest of us should still be pagans, heh.
What the hell were we talking about again? heehee.
Unless you can tell me another religion where Michael is an archangel and Lucifer is a demon?
Well, Christianity comes to mind immediately there. Basically the point I was trying to make here is that the Jewish tradition doesn't so much focus on the war between heaven and hell. That dualistic idea came into Christianity via various other sycretisms around the turn of the millenium.
FF seemed a lot more influenced by Shinto, with it's environmentalist themes and the like. But "influenced by" and "based on the theology of" are two very different things.
Why bother learning lots of theory, higher math, abstract concepts and higher level thinking skills that you will never need?
Answer: Because he may want to do something else later in his life. A 4 year degree may not solve everything and land you the cushy job or whatever, but it will give you a more diverse background.
eh, maybe maybe not. I have tons of work experience, but recently went up for a job which I didn't get. As it turns out a guy I know did get the job, he had almost no job experience but had a nice fresh 4 year degree, and possibly more importantly, was willing to take less money.
So that was the last straw for me, I'm going back to school this fall to finish off my BA.
Once I was using my new Powerbook on a lunch break, and a coworker walked by as I was talking to my boss about how much I liked my new mac and blah blah blah, anyway the guy walking by yelled out something like, "Yeah, but try playing games on it!"... he didn't see that I had been playing Warcraft III on it. Please come up with another excuse, mm-kay?
I've had Autorealm working fairly well under Wine, but I haven't tried it recently. I may try it out with Codeweavers Crossover, I bet that would work a little better.
I wonder if in our efforts to understand how our universe came into being, whether we are creating little universes of our own in the laboratory. And if in those universes there are beings trying to figure out where they came from, how their universe was created and why is the sky green? And where do baby tentacle beasts come from? What is God, and why is his representative on earth a ferocious three legged razor weasel?
that seems like even more trouble to go to than just taking a picture of the background, setting as desktop image and then placing the computer carefully.

eh, by the time this thing comes out, we'll have Airport Ultra-Extreme or some crap, which will be fast enough that it won't matter.
who cares about ethernet? Go wireless, young man!

I figured I'd take one for the team this time.. But don't go thinking I'll bail you out every time!
What exactly is it that you do that you are always referring to (I assume) Apple using the royal "we"?
so.. comment about a comment about a ... carry the one ... that's me isn't it?
I wish I were 18 again.
Why's that? I'm 31 and I'm about to go back to school in the fall... I don't think they kick you out of class for being a fogey.
Wow, I hadn't read that before. What a complete tool.

For Judaism, there are several games that love to play off of the classic "heaven vs. hell" war
I think you have Judaism confused with something else. Perhaps Manicheanism?
I dunno man, this weekend seems like it went by really fast...

I wanted to mod this, but there is no +1 Punny option.

You may be thinking of the term fluid. Or I could be wrong...

And I haven't even smoked pot today.
OKay, that's hot. I've got an SE/30 sitting in my closet that I picked up for 5 bucks at a bargain/used junk store. Fortune and glory, here I come!
Yes.
