Who the heck wants to see Million Dollar Baby or Ray or that one about some dude testing wine.
Come on mods. Either I'm missing something here, or this should be modded down as a troll. If he would have mentioned movies that really did suck, like Catwoman or The Whole Ten Yards, then he might have made some sense and had a little credibility with his comments.
Speaker cable is a bit different from a lot of the interconnect cables we handle, in several respects. Because speakers are driven at low impedance (typically 4 or 8 ohms) and high current, speaker cables are, for all practical purposes, immune from interference from EMI or RFI, so shielding isn't required.
Here comes the flame war about cabling, but you'll get the same sound quality by wiring your house with lamp cord as you will with Monster Cable. Monster is an outstanding marketing machine. The product are good quality, but the bang for buck ratio is pretty bad.
If you don't want to belive me, and since I'm just some schmo on the internet you shouldn't, do a search on Monster Cable at either of these websites, and read the consensus opinions.
As long as any retailer makes buying appliances and electronics a negotiation, this is what they get. As long as they use service plans as a negotiation tool, this is what they get. As long as rebates exist as a tool for bringing in the masses, then this is what they get. As long as these stores advertise loss leaders in the Sunday paper, then this is what they get. Best Buy and stores like Best Buy have become the car dealers of the electronics world. They're own practices have brought this upon them, I have no sympathy.
Yes, but on that $500.00 dell, I can add in a new graphics card and have the option to play games that your $550.00 eMac NEVER will even if there is a port. You see, because you have no expansion slots available...oh, wait, your a Mac user. Never mind that last part.
Your advice is EXACTLY what is given at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle now. Infants do not need any of the cutsey bed items that are all over the market. They don't know what a pillow or a blanket is, and will be just fine sleeping in warm clothing. The CO2 issue is relavant since infants do not expel or inhale air that's more than a few inches beyond their faces. Crib bumpers and baby comforters are a big nono.
Yeah, the HD coverage of the US Open was really great. I especially like how it switched to SD for the entire second set of the men's final. Thanks a lot, CBS.
I agree with the upthread, and I'm about ready to cancel my Comcast service. All I watch is 1 hour of TV on HBO every Sunday, maybe one college football game, if a good team is on and in HD (otherwise I prefer the radio broadcasts), and if I'm feeling particularly unambitious, reruns of Law & Order. Hardly worth the $80/month it's costing me.
Also the CompressCast image quality tends to be terrible. HBO usually looks good, and the other HD channels look okay, but the Olympics coverage was compressed to an unrecognizable tile mosaic, and the remainder of the 700+ standard-def channels are all squeezed into what appears to be about 100kHz of bandwidth. They just look horrible.
Didn't watch the Men's final, but then again, Comcast in Seattle doesn't have the CBS HD feed. This is why we watch the OTA broadcast. We tried Comcast's HD service, but had the same issues you did.
HD seems like an even worse deal. Where's the HD content ? The devices for doing HD PVR are "cool" (although i think any directivo solution will still have the lack of home-media i cited above) but you're talking like $60+/mo for television and it seems like there's honestly nothing that enriching to watch
There's plenty of HD content, most of it OTA, and especially sports, I watch Sunday NFL in HD now, Monday Night Football is stunning, as was the US Open. Most of my local news programs are in HD. Tonight I get to choose between Lost, Hawaii, and Law and Order. PBS has amazing stuff on their HD broadcast as well. Tomorrow I get CSI and ER if I want. Saturday, ABC will be showing an HD fees of Castaway. Fun! Tom Hanks gets skinnier in 1080i! This is all over the air. I don't pay the cable company, or a satellite provider extra for any of these channels. As long as you have a good antennae, an HDTV, and an HD tuner, you're set.
I know that the link to MS Bob was supposed to be funny, but that's software. The track record that I have with MS hardware has been almost uniformly excellent. Everything that I've bought from them bar one game controller, has been well designed and durable. The one thing that they have done right, and better than most everyone else is their hardware.
We've just sent out the exact same message to our users, and we're only a company of 350 people. Now that the final release is out, we'll test it, and create an install that fits our enviroment.
Is there a standalone version of the player available or do I have to buy the whole distro for $70.00? If there's no standalone player, than this is as useless as having no 'legal' player available in the first place.
He obviously hadn't seen HD porn before writing that article. HD is porn the way it was meant to be seen I tell you what! Night Calls on Playboy HD is the best thing since, well, porn on VHS!
Does anyone know of any middle click utilities for Windows? I've gotten so used to using Klipper in KDE for keeping Copy & Paste content handy, and the middle mouse button for quick and dirty Copy & Paste, that I find myself cussing at Windows for not letting me use the middle mouse button that way.
I can't tell from the web site if this is a legitimate institute or just some crank that has an opinion page of his own. It looks pretty amateurish to me, there's broken links on the site, like his:
He doesn't cite anyone, using the 'people contacted at' crutch. He's also inconsistent in his opinion. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I'm, simply underwhelmed by the whole thing this guy is about and simply don't understand whether or not he's important, or if I should care.
While HP's name is not the first on the mind of gaming enthusiasts today, Markworth said the company's long history will be its advantage as it enters the market.
"Credibility is something you only earn over time," he said. "HP with its Compaq brand has a huge advantage in stepping in as a newer player."
After a stressful day at my IT job. Nothing does a better job of making that melt away then my smiling 1 year running around the corner to greet me at the front door.

If you're looking for high quality cables at an excellent price, try Bluejeans Cable
I wonder what Nick McGrath's opinion on this is, and who is HE holding accountable?
If you had taken three seconds to provide some proof to your claim in the first place, we wouldn't be having this discussion would we?
Google it if you want to know more.
No, you provide the link. Prove your accusation or you're nothing better than a common troll.

It's not the Dell. That model is actually a rebadged Philips LCD.

Firewire will never be enabled on the Dish 921 HD DVR.

I'm sure it would be a great place to start getting information.
Yes, the passwords themselves are painfully weak.

I haven't ever solicited selling this site - infact I've turned down many offers, some very high, because I WANTED TO KEEP IT!

If I had a nickel for every time I heard, 'As an MCSE I know', I'd be living next to Bill Gates.

No, it doesn't.
