    We're not consumers, but customers. But to keep us on the edge and because we love TLAs, lets call the next thing we're expected to buy SKUs. Just to keep us on the bleeding edge, and to alienate the other guys.

    Only now are games rated in terms of hours gameplay. And what's considered a good game offers 30 hours. I challenge any youngster to finish, for example, Head Over Heals in that time.

    In my opinion, intelligent gamers just can't be arsed to play this modern rubbish, based on the same stuff as the year before, only with slightly smoother graphics. This is why the Wii will probably be successful. Not because it's Nintendo, but because it offers some actual gameplay developments over the previous 20 years.

    I'm I'm a native English speaker, and both those posts read painfully to me. Having said that, I was given a zero grade in French at university for having Microsoft Word "proof-read" for me. Never underestimate the power of grammar checkers.

    You can't protect a CD from being copied, but you can restrict its playback.

    Normally, people who don't get 'their' submission accepted are the biggest whiners on Slashdot, so I'd be on your side.

    However, if it is true that you don't need have "auto opening of safe files" turned on, then you have done a lot of your Mac-using readers a disservice (eg: these.) How about a quick correction?

    Actually, they do in the print edition of the Guardian. Curiously, the BBC are showing all of the pictures printed in the paper except that one.

    There is no way the parent post should be modded flaimbait. The firebombing of Dresden was a major atrocity of WW2, and the person who lead it, "Bomber" Harris should have been tried as a war criminal. Instead, there is a nice statue of him in London. Also, he had a nice sidelne in using chemical weapons on Kurds in Iraq.

    To be honest, I couldn't give a toss whether the ask slashdotter found that page or not. My main point is that he should make this service opt in, as no one likes to be forced to use a transparent proxy.

    So the answer is: Don't set up a transparent proxy. Instead, set one up that customers can "opt-in" to use.

    Your savvy customers will thank you, and people won't be offended by having the choice taken away from them.
