    A long time ago, I wrote a Fortran program which did this. We fed it the manuals for the CDC7600, and then got it to print out "The CDC7600 for Dummies" - of course it made no sense, but we assured people that "Only Seymour Cray could actually understand the CDC7600 anyway", so they continued to believe!

    If only I had the punched cards now!

    I think he meant that MS makes its money by selling advertising space to the providers of shovel-ware you get with a new install. (and maybe kickbacks from antivirus software peddlers).

    OS/2 died because IMB's advertising (In Europe, anyway) was so cr*p that it actually hindered sales. Your button illustrates that the name was an obstacle that was unlikely to overcome even by good marketing. (Yes, I had one of those buttons too, but also ran an OS/2 support BBS (on OS/2)

    Is the race bit an "American" thing? I doubt its a big issue elsewhere. Similarly humiliation. I am not persuaded its a turn on for anyone outside America - maybe the rest of the world gets enough of it in real life?

    And how about older guys like women their own age? How do you know the age of whoever conducted the search? My own impression is that young guys tend to prefer slim young girls, while more experienced men tend to prefer more experienced looking women, both in real life and in porn. Maybe its because I am a grown up person and not a "computational neuroscientist".

    Fashion mag producers (male and female) appear to be gay anyway, and not interested in fertile-looking women.

    "Roaming" is the telecoms industry's jargon for "ripping you off". ,b>Just say no!

    Anyway, have you tried talking to a UK carrier? It involves paying $2 a minute to talk to a badly paid parrot called Philip in Pakistan, and is extremely unlikely to reveal anything resembling a fact. Furthermore, since they are forbidden to use the word "no", or any phase that has a negative connotation, it is impossible to confirm or deny anything you might suspect of being a fact.
