Okay, well my background in Computer Engineering, OS Design, and a brief stint coding military simulations probably helped. Back in my day I had to write games in BASIC, on a 4.7Mhz computer with no hard disk and 128K of RAM. And I was grateful
Yeah, programming games in BASIC on a 4.7 Mhz processor is not too different from
the Matrix program. How did you manage to render all that stuff on an XT
anyway?
Why not? What else were they planning on doing to make themselves
profitable? No need try and fail to be successful when you can sue and
blame everyone else for your eventual failure.
Every major station in New York has either a top 40 format or rock format. And both formats consist of about 10 songs played over and over. If it wasn't for talk radio, I'd have nothing to listen to on the drive to work.
No, since nobody cared about the saturn. However, playing PSX games on the Dreamcast could have had made a MAJOR difference. Sega shouldn't have relied on bleemcast. They should have come up with their own emulation solution. The Dreamcast certainly had the horsepower to do it.
Because if you don't, people won't buy your hardware. IBM vs. Apple, Clones vs. IBM PS/2, PlayStation 2 vs. Dreamcast, US Robotics vs. Hayes, SVHS vs. 8mm, etc.
As for me, as soon as I buy a DVD recorder I'll be making DVD versions of
the ORIGINAL tapes. Bastards. Han shot first, what's the big deal? PC morons.
That's a good point. It would be trivial to put the original version on a
different angle. You could choose which version you want to watch.
Somehow I doubt GL ego will allow him to give the fans such an option when the
DVDs eventually do come out.
Remember the Slashdot story a while back with Lucas planning on re-releasing the Episodes 4-6 again with Natalie Portman and Jar Jar added? A Google search came up empty. Anyone have a link?
Disney's "Oliver and Company" used cgi wire frames that got "painted over" by the animators to look more realistic. I also seem to remember the cartoon "Galaxy Rangers" combined CGI with animation.
I don't have any direct evidence to back it up, but I'll be floored if the Japanese didn't do it first.
Everything is pop culture. The Japanese making little porcelain dolls
of anime girls taking a shit. Floria Sigismondi music videos. Web design.
Graphic novels. Pop culture isn't a blanket term for "the most dilute
mainstream crap you can think of." It's whatever the currency of the
culture is, its expression and iconography in the moment.
If those are considered "cultural currency" then goatse links must be
worth a fortune.
...when an article gets posted and it's written in a way that you're expected to know exaclty what the heck the obscure topic is about? If you're writing the Matrix or Star Trek, it's a safe bet that people have heard about it. This obviously isn't as "big," so what the hell is this about and why should I care. This isn't a troll; I'm serious. I'm sure it's a good book, or movie, or whatever it is, but a little background would be nice.

IT's an ethical and legal issue, but not one that is life threatening. Goodwin's law ought to be ammeded to include types like you.
As long as you get paid, let them worry about the lawsuit. They're the ones who are going to actually use it. Keep your mouth shut.
Is SCO litigating itself into irrelevance?

You're lucky if you can pull those stations in without installing a 50 foot FM antenna on the roof of your car.

I used to just tell people the problem was caussed by a "nut loose behind the keyboard."

That looks great! I can't wait until it's released for the X-Box.

Toshiba wanted dual layer and Sony (I think) wanted to standardize on flippers. Thank goodness they comprimized and kept both.

Make sure you get a Samsung DVD drive in the XBox. It will read anything.
Yeah, if it wasn't for me, he'd be starring in major blockbusters right now. I hope he can forgive me for holding him back.
*cough* Usenet *cough*
Shut up, Wesley!
If that chick is supposed to be French, why doesn't she have a pot belly and hairy armpits?
Put on your red and blue goggles and enjoy!
FRIST!

If you read it carefully, it does say that the newer consoles were indeed sold at a loss, just don't assume that concept goes back to the Atari 2600.
Then explain why an IMAX screen is so tall.
