    I can not imagine what void an EVIL camera would fill. The phone fits in my shirt pocket. It even has an LED flash and is never farther from my body than arms reach. The P&S lives in the car and goes in my back pocket on suspicion. A DSLR goes when there is a definite possibility of great photos and I configure the kit based on the opportunity anywhere from one lens to the big Halliburton.

    For image manipulation, The Gimp. To get it out of the camera, UFRaw. To get rid of duplicates, Clonespy. These are all rock solid maintained performers

    Plus you get a couple of sweet magnets. A BFH also works if you're really in a hurry. I have a shot loaded 2 1/2 pound ball pein that will do the job. Unless the drive is of military interest denting the platter will do it.

    I type Dvorak, slowly. IIRC the Navy looked into it last century and decided that it might make sense for those who cannot touch type over 20 wpm. In the event that you go that route the older Mavis Beacon programs included Dvorak. Most Northgate keyboards have a Dvorak switch so they can work at the Bios and pre-windows level. Windows includes Dvorak as a key layout option and has for years. It also includes the one-handed Dvorak layouts which I recommend to those who can only use one hand. The IBM model M keyboards have curved backplanes and all the keycaps are the same shape which makes them easy to rearrange.
