i haven't played the demo yet so i can't tell how good it is but i have been playing day of defeat for half life for a while and imho it kick ass. it has team commands in both languages english and german and it realstic but fun(until you don't get pissed off when you find out you can;t jump very high cause of the stamine bar). it a real neat mod, and it has top notch boards and graphixs for a 3-4 year old engine it still looks good. i am looking forward to allied assualt for it's single person mode cause the first two for the ps1 was the shit, hope they brought that quality to the pc. well if the teamdeath match mode sucks for moh:aa i'll stick to Day of defeat for my WWII nazi ass kicking.
i saw an article here a while ago with someone with a dev. box getting mame to run on the xbox.
so when can we see mame running on our own xbox?
another point, it would be intresting if MS buy snk assets, and introduce the snk games not as an console conversion of the games from neo geo but to write their own version of mame and bring an "Arcade Perfect" version of your favirite snk game. but i doubt MS can make any money off this venture but I WANT MY MAME ON someone else's XBOX.

To bad it wasn't the beer power car of the Simpson's fame. Oh well it a neat invention but i liked his auto-gyro slef stblizing walks up AND down stairs wheelchair. Forgot what it's called but i am guessing the IT is a scale down version of it. It's neat but i doubt i will be able to aford one or want one unless they shrink it in to the size of a skate board, which would be better then the design they have now which is to large and cumbersume to carry around the city, and to easy to steal. (come on it may have 64 bit crpyto but nothing beats a pair of bolt cutters and a pickup truck) But all in all when this guy brings it out for sale i'll check it out at the sharper image but untill then i'll stick to my skateboard and the many bruises i recieve in trying to skate through the urban jungle nyc.
the codecs will change. i am guessing the mpeg decoder is a hardware decoder so it would not go out of date. but what about the divix codec. it keeps getting updated so how are they going to incorperate an EASY way to upgrade the drivers?

i'm not that good with the 2600 case because i stopped listing to there off the hook show,(i live in the tristate area i get it live not the streaming crap) but i think that there case for freedom of printing the decss code on there website was perfectly legal but they lost there case. what will happen to 2600? i might be really lazy but why is the case being thrown out with the decryption of the digital water marks by those princeton geeks?

i know millions of game fans out there. Are playing counter strike or tacops religiously online everyday. could playing a fps like cs or tacops be like vr training?
just get the soliders play metal gear solid one and two a couple thoudand times till they think they are snake. then we will have a army of super soliders able to take on 50 feet nuclear armed dinosaur looking things. think the future. think snake.
the xbox the technology behind the box is being brought to the computer. what i am talking about is the nforce set of motherboards from nvidia. the motherboards are very iintresting because it has on board video, sound and lan card intergration has become popular and the other manufactures will notice. the xbox seems a midpoint of two technologies. the computer and the console. it has the power of an computer infastrutre but has a static shelf life of a console.
from this point on, the things that sperated the consoles from the computer will begin to rapidly merge to be one uniform product. will the xbox be sucessful in trying to sell us a all in one machine. is it trying to infilitrate the living rooms of america and spread the wide arms of microsoft across all parts of your life. will microsoft stragety of sell an all inclusive console work? will it bring up a new trend of intergration of internet and hard drive in to the console. we already seen sony having to bring out the ps3 sooner to match the force that microsoft has brung.
l oved the orginal iron cheif it seems so Exotic with the wacky voice overs, exotic food from around the world (mostly live octopus battles) and the Insistent bantering of one japanese guy going a mile a minute deliver the action from the kitchen. why did they have to Bastardized a cult classic. my be if they dubbed it n spanish and they forced the cooks to hunt for there food... just , may be it might be Palatable.

i heard a wild rumor (mostly i made it up) that if you plug a x-box by a ps2 the x-box will slowly drain the power from the ps2 till the ps2 fails to function and dies. leaving the xbox the only console playable!
i was staring at nude pictures of the xbox over at www.firesquad.com , and i thought to myself how can they call this thing a console! it a god dang computer. there's the fancy geforce 3 sticking out of the "gasp" motherboard of the xbox. a nice circular heatsink over the pentium III cpu. and a bunch of slots that look like pci slots and dimm slots for ram. i would of thought they would have put more time in to the xbox like the ps2. they could of intergrated some parts to reduce the fucking size of the xbox. have you seen one and hold on! it bigger then my vcr and vcd machine combined. while microsoft is trying to sell this thing as a console but to me it is a very inexpensive computer! i not so excited by the games that will be produced for the xbox but for the thought of some day may be not today maybe not tomorrow but some day (better make it soon!) some ingenius hackers out there to turn the xbox in to something usefull. like the the dreamcast linux boxes that i saw on/. the xbox is 100x more power full then the dreamcast {R.I.P} some good shit can be made of the box. here are some ideas.
1. all the talk about bewoulf clusters and supercomputing. i don't xbox super computers?
2. the nice and fancy geforce 3(?) cards in side the xbox. buy the box and turn them in to graphic farms. i know that sony are using the ps2 in boxes to do parallel graphics processing in future digital movies.
3. at 733 mhz and a 8 gig hd and a sweat ass graphix card all for the low low price of 300 dollars somebody out there better make some kind of hack so i can install so kind of operating system on the xbox maybe win xp or red hat.
my two cents about the xbox.
i have seen halo can't wait for it to come out for my good old computer.

i haven't seen the movie and i don't think i will till i go see and iron monkey and troll the movies to full fill the 8.50 i had to pay to get in. wee. i read the book i think this movie was based of about five years ago.. the book was based of a psychology case study about a person that saw the world to alien to him. like the movie he though he was an alien. but the kicker is that in his world having sex was very painfull, the parents kick out the kids at a young age from the home. on the planet of k-pax i think, there is no property no one owns any thing. it was intresting book and it was short. you can read it in one sitting. the ending is sad he tells every one that he is going home on a certain day. on that day the docters can't find him in the psych building they find him in the basement naked in the fetal postion and half dead.
my memory isn't that good so most of this post could be a construction of my own mind.
