I have an new iPod Photo, it came with a USB 2 cable but I can connect using my old Firewire cables, too. So you should be able to use your iBook firewire ports if you can find an old cable or just get a firewire cable and an adaptor (I think Belkin makes one).
Oh, but we did win. We won the right to bitch and complain. Just like you guys did under Clinton. So you shut the fuck up, and we'll just go on complaining. Get fucking used to it, it's going to be a really long 4 years.
So then, what you're really saying is that your ethics are for sale. Afterall, even if it is a legal requirement that MS, there's no requirement on you're part to condone this behavior or the law.
All this talk of crashing is so 5 years ago. In the 2 years I've been working as a sysadmin
And if you'll look at my post, you'll notice i specified non-IT folks. Go talk to some home users about their wonderful experiences. Like I said, it's an adequate OS is you want to be a specialist in it (or hire one). For most users, it's a maze that they only learn a very small part of and the rest remains a confusing mystery. I also notice you were smart enough not to reply about their user interface design...
Windows is great the vast majority of PC users who don't care to learn another O/S
Unfortunately, most Windows users don't learn their own OS either. They just assume computers have to be frustrating and confusing boxes that occasionally do what they want but mostly crash first. Windows is an adequate OS if you want to be a Windows specialist, for most consumers (not IT folks) it's way too complicated. User interface design on Windows seems limited to picking a new shiny blue color to paint the title bars with, not actually improving usability.
So is the something specifcally different about composing digital pix as opposed to film? As far as I know, bad photography has been around for at least 50 years or so. The real problem is that looking at someone else's family vacation snapshots is pretty boring now matter how well taken they are.
Nope, Batman carried a gun briefly, in the '30s when the comic first started. By the '50s Batman was terribly clean cut and ethical (read boring), much more so than the current "Dark Knight" version.
As someone who has tested HTML full time (Mac IE 4-5), I can tell you that no testing process will catch all mistakes in HTML rendering. Since some bugs only show up when multiple circumstances are present in the code, it is impossible to systematically check every tag in every setting it might be used in.
So any portable firewire drive would work (it would have to take it's power off the firewire). But you'd have to be stealing from a Mac, because most PC's don't have firewire. So when USB 2 get's common enough, PC user's will be able to do this, too. Mac uses will then be able to poo-poo it as passe...
2 books by John Brunner
Shockwave Rider- (Early 1970's)Uses the word Web to descibe an electronic public opinion bulletin board system. A generally prophetic book.
The Sheep Look Up- (Early 1970's)Deals with global pollution. Predicts things like acid rain and pesticide resistant bugs.
Listen Up, You Primitive Screw heads!

Defining Globalism

Primitive cultures like the one running Afghanistan don't accept the inevitability of globalism
Jon Katz, you ignorant slut!
Primitive cultures don't know anything about how to fly airplanes into buildings, evade Interpol/FBI and advanced money laundering techniques. This particular part of the world has been civilized for far longer than most of the rest of the world (y'know Iraq, craddle of civilization, that stuff?). While they may or may not agree with the inevitibility of Globalization, they are certainly not primitive. If anything it's dumb old American who don't know shit about global politics or their own xenophobia who might be thought of as primitive.
So I love the Simpsons, but, let's face it, it borrows a lot from the Flintstones which borrowed pretty directly from the Honeymooners. So does Family Guy owe a little to the Simpsons? Sure, but so what, it's still funny.
As for Futurama, it's got a ways to go before you can start calling it genius. The Simpsons occasionally hits genius (although not lately) but The Family has several episodes that I thought were at least really funny. Copying is not a crime, any artist who tells you they're 100% original is either lying or just stupid.

It's unbelievable that somebody would be so company-bound that they'd do something so foolish. You've obviously never worked at Microsoft.

Just out of curiosity, is anybody still using NS4? Is there any reason to?

Life is cheap, software costs money...
Creed sucks and the fuck is lighthouse? Take your xian rock and go home, monkeyboy.
