All the liberal tree-hugging enviro-hippies I know aren't particularly adept at suppressing others' viewpoints nearly as effectively as neo-cons.
Reducing our own emissions on an individual basis is not any major sacrifice, and can only serve to reverse any negative environmental effects. Doing our part while new evidence continues to support the existence of global warming seems trivially easy; an ounce of prevention, as they say.
Any news on how much, if any, the news of Opera's latest success passing the Acid2 Test will affect the development of Firefox? For Mozilla to stay ahead of the game, it needs to continue to do more than just staying ahead of IE.
A few of the brothers in the Pack Animals Union chapter 107 would like a word with you, Mister "I-can-see-a-whole-lot-of-applications-where-a-liv e-animal-wouldn't-be-as-useful."
Fortunately, Firefox is one of many grassroots methods people are using to fight the monopolistic practices of Microsoft, since the government has decided to let things slide ever since a very pro-business government was implemented. If you don't like the EULA, use a bottom-up approach, and write your own, or support OSS, naturally. I 3 Sourceforge. Oops... 3.;)
Does this mean I'll be able to replace the 35 pound CRT on my desk with one of these, or at least have a paper-thin projector screen in its place? Full color by the end of 2006 (FTFA) doesn't mean "In Best Buy by the end of 2006," I'm guessing.
SQI, SQII and SQIII were all great, but in SQIV, once they added the mouse interface and owner's manual-based copy protection (yes, I bought the game), that really ruined it for me. I had Quest for Glory when it was still marketed as Hero's Quest. Great game.:)
Your saliva is basic, not acidic. The bacteria produce lactic acid and lower the pH in plaques, ultimately resulting in tooth decay. The bacteria produce the acid because they metabolize sugary foods by glycolysis. Less sugar means less acid production by the bacteria in the mouth.
Yes it's flamebait... but it's insightful flamebait. Don't dismiss it too readily as partisan politics until you can seriously argue that most politicians in favor of invasive wiretaps aren't Republicans (I doubt anyone would make that case). The demographics of U.S. politics are partially responsible too - in the desire to appear more anti-terrorist, Bush takes drastic steps which may fight terrorism, but violate the U.S. Constitution (a cute ancillary benefit is that the executive branch gains significant power over legislative checks). Republicans in congress would be politically stupid to argue against his policies. The Democrats, in order to fight critics' allegations from the last elections that they are disorganized, are practically obligated to play the civil liberties card (and rightfully so, IMO) to appear unified.
Let me get this right... China doesn't want to see people demonstrating because they fear democracy. And they're attacking porn. Sorry, but I can't think of a better reason why half a billion Chinese would take to the streets.
Why do so many people think this is a good idea? What channels won't be included that would otherwise provide quality viewing? Who would pay for their provider to include PBS, the Discovery Channel, the History Channel, or CSPAN (besides me)? What incentive would stations have to put out quality programming any other time than prime-time? Won't this narrow the market down to a few stations able to provide the most flash and sex? A free market approach doesn't benefit the consumer if the consumer loses programs of artistic merit or education.
As noted by the recent spate of cellphone-targeting malware....if you don't have the latest coffeepot firewall, someone could make you wake up to decaf! The horrrrror!
It's okay -- you're not really a hacker until someone else calls you a hacker.

Do you have any idea how much a Piracy Tax would cost?!
Sweet! Free books and movies!
They can't enforce the existing setups, but by setting precedent, the *AA lawyers will have another target, thereby setting up further precedent.
I was going to say a blender, but I guess a duck works, in a way that would provide a lasting odd mental scarring value.

I'd like to see it renamed after the muse Urania, but I doubt mixing a Greek name into the Roman names would get much support among the purists.
A measurement everyone understands? Like how much porn?

You forgot the bomb.

Who thought finding the square root of negative one would be this easy?

Thank god.
Great. Hacked cereal boxes. I can just see "Goatse Cereal." Hey, it even sounds like "oats," so it's got to be good. GAHHH! My eyes!

What's with all these music posts? JESUS CHRIST.
Funny, I thought the article on CNN about the marble facade on the front of the Supreme Court building was literal.
