  1. Security Guy on The Unspoken Taboo - The Never Expiring Password · · Score: 3, Insightful

I have never met a security eng who work more than 4 years in the same company. I am convinced the streets are flooded with people who know the security schemes of their previous employers. Which IMHO is worst than knowing the never changing passwords.

  2. Re:What a degree is about on Tulane University to Reduce Engineering School · · Score: 1

Call me crazy but I think U.S will greatly benefit if there are no more CS or any computer graduates for the next 10 years. This country lacks appreciation for good engineering and science to the point where posts like the above is practically true. CS is a field too abused in school and in the corporate world.

  6. Re:Different than the T.O.'s "speech"? on Marquette Dental Student Suspended For Blogging · · Score: 1

No! It's one thing to complain as a blogger. It's another to complain as a blogger while getting paid $$$millions like T.O. You, the student, are a customer to the university. You are the one paying in most cases. And if you are getting full scholarship, the school want something from you.

When the school makes money off you and tell you to shutup, it's plain wrong. Tell them to go to hell, doesn't matter if you're 20 years old and they are a 200 year institution. If a company is paying you and tell you to shutup, perhaps that is more acceptable. Since you are complaining on their expense.

  7. Re:From Real? on Web Based Rhapsody Targets Linux · · Score: 1

Yeah I got Rhapsody too. Someone recommended it on slashdot ages ago and it has IMHO topped Napster in everyway. The occassional annoyance is the "buy-only" tracks for new albums. But those eventually go away and become freebie streams anyways.

It really opened up a market of artists and songs that I would ordinarily be too afraid to invest my money in. Now I listen to 1% mainstream and 99% underground. Only after Rhapsody would you realize how much shit has been flooding your local radio and MTV.

GameStop / EB -- I cannot stand the annoying platform pushers. When I come for a PS2 game, don't sell me a xbox. Anyhow I have to come back since they take back old games. But why does every store have to be a zoo.

Blockbuster -- Sometimes you can find a steal in the bargin bin.

Dude I so agree with you. Substandard shit should not be tolerated, especially at a $400 price tag.

The 8bit NES did require massive dust cleaning to get the games to work. People were willing to tolerate it in the 80s because of the monopoly of dominent games. Xbox or 360 does not have that dominance. Not even close.

By today's standard, errors and blue screens just aren't acceptable on consoles. This is not PC hardware with a thousand drivers that is interchangable. This is 1 set of chips in a box. No excuse.
