$55, no thanks. I am going to wait for this game to come out with 10 patches first.
If memory serves me correct, last time I bought Doom III for $55, it sat on my shelf collecting dust because my overpriced ATI Radeon 9800 pro somehow wasn't good enough. After the Catalyst drivers finally worked out, the game was already down to $39 in some places.
No! Marijuana is illegal because it's a guaranteed underground revenue stream for ANY government across ANY country. It's a plant, requiring no chemicals to grow. It's light, easy to transport. Perfect merchandise for the government-watched-illegal market.
1.) Government Ban marijuna 2.) Start marijuna underground chain 3.) Create more jobs for law enforcement 4.) Profit !!!
While that is a very good observation. I think Howard Stern's attack came also came from the hollywood angle around the same time the movie "the passion" became a hit. There was a sense of anti-jewish community for a while, and Howard took a hit. So I wouldn't put all the eggs in one basket against George Dubya.
SQL has just been around too damn long and has been thru a cazillion transitions from different company influence.
You start off with the classic ANSI92 SQL which has alot less functions than some of the newer SQL. And SQL queries in M$ products are different enough compared to oracle SQL.
We need a new language to start from scratch that gets carried around like shell binaries across different unix systems. As long as you have that one binary, 99.99% of the syntax will be the same.
Seriously compared to other review sites like Anandtech, Toms hardware no longer does the best reviews. The video card sections are milking advertising money. There is no way in hell you need to span 25 pages of graph charts.
And the conclusion always say the same thing.... "All cards are designed from a reference board. Therefore it's no different if you buy from any vendor." Then why the hell do you need to review 20 boards? Just do 1 ATI, and 1 Nvidia card and finish.
I don't know who to defend. ATI and Nvidia with their buggy drivers or Tomshardware.
Nintendo should play it quiet. They already have 2 unsuccessful consoles in the past few years, Gamecube and N64. Both of which completely failed to win over the 13 to 30 age group. They are hanging in by a thread. If I was Nintendo, I'd quit the console business and focus on GBA and GB DS.
IF you people ever really went to China and study their culture, you'll know that the government has ZERO intention to block porn and internet sites for the benefit of the people.
They are STRICTLY blocking it, to create a secondary revenue stream of access to these same blocked materials.
No different than Cocaine. You can sell it on the street legally for $10. Or sell it underground illegally for $1000 of the same amount.
The superior solution years from now will the the solution with no subscription plan.
Someone in slashdot pointed out from previous articles that Snapstream could use XML TV to get data from Zap2it. I have tried it, and I ran into every firewall brick wall you can imagine.
Granted I can still schedule shows via Snapstream to record by punching in 9:00 for example. It's just not the same having that TV guide menu like the paid Tivo service.
I know people who absolutely love being IT managers. On the other hand I have never heard of anyone enjoy flipping burger meat or smelling people's armpits as deordorant testers.
Face it, the real difficult jobs are the IT folks in the trenches busting their asses. The managers just kinda observe and plan.
Because Microsoft wants to be in EVERY game, win or lose. They started out as an OS company, then later became an Word processing, database, browser making, video game company. M$ management is the classic "I want that Feature, because I said so" type.
I have to admit the "drivers area" is one of Nvidia's strength still. I have an ATI Radeon 9800 card, and their drivers blow, period. If my next purchase is an Nvidia card, it's because they have proven to write better drivers in every platform even linux.
I appreciate having the right to vote. However there is nothing more damaging to know 4 years later you voted for the wrong person. Imagine voting for Bush now, and then end up out of a job with loans and mortgages. You'd be kicking yourself for voting Bush. Vice versa Kerry might be the same. Note, I am not taking sides here!
It's best to just exercise your vote as a citizen by voting Ralph Nader, Howard Stern or Mickey Mouse.
They cannot bring anything EAsports to Asia. There is just a whole different sports culture down there. With the exception of FIFA maybe Live, there is no other sport quite fitting for the public.
EAsports don't do Badminton, Ping pong, Tennis, Martial Arts.
There are times when I wonder if he has just gotten older and less savy on the radio cause his ratings dropped alot the past few years. I know he blames the FCC. On a completely unregulated station, we'll find out if he's as revolutionary as he used to be.

I agree, there is a TON of work to be done. There is bugs everywhere. I feel like the industry is pulling the plug on the workforce.
Years from now some company will have a need for a software to do XYZ, and they can't. Simply because there is too few people resources left.

Heh at least you didn't call bench. Now that's a huge waste of time.

Or you can use Trillion. You end up with AOL, MSN, ICQ and a million other accounts under one. That way you don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Wha? That's 3 Fedora core major versions released in 1 year, and 2004 still has 2 months left. This pace is insanely fast.

While I prefer KDE on just about every version of linux I tried, GNOME was never that far behind.
It was just a matter of preference that I stuck to KDE. GNOME was every bit as good functionality wise.

Just went to the site and it is down. Looks like it's already been hacked.
Hey speak for yourself. I happened to be a very accurate pisser (in the sniper class). I haven't spilled a drop since 2000.
Now what if you can smell that blue screen of death before it hits you. Hmmm....

Unfortunately the key to linux on everyone's desktop is too many factors.
.net off.
Graphics card -> ATI and Nvidia are clearly not ready
Databases -> mySQL is actually pretty damn good
UI -> KDE and GNOME is good but still flawed
Browsers -> Firefox hmmm....
Viruses -> good shape
Spyware -> good shape
Adware -> good shape
Office -> still no good email client
Games -> Argh!
Dev -> Still think it needs a good GUI dev tool like visual basic to knock
