Heaven forbid people stand up for what they believe in. That would be a terrible thing, if we all had morals and questioned authority. I believe this will be similar to online books, and hence, fail. When Stephen King put his book online [ http://www.stephenking.com/ ], he set the rate at one dollar to read it. One would expect the reply to be large, as paperback books run about 6 bucks nowadays. However, extensive reading of on-screen material tires the eyes and readers in the end decided that it wasn't worth it because it was too uncomfortable to read, and they'd rather have a paperback version.

  22. It's the same on Review: Black Hawk Down · · Score: 0

"Black Hawk Down is a political movie about what happens when dumbass politicians and an ignorant citizenry send people off to die for no good reason anybody can think of (unlike Afghanistan)."

Unlike Afghanistan? It's exactly the same my friend. American imperialism is what's going on here, and even if we say we're fighting so called terror, terror is in fact what we are spreading. The more land we can subdue, the more money we can make exploiting it. This is how our country has been running since 1776. Simply because of 9/11 doesn't all of a sudden make everything we do righteous. Bush has talked about sending troops to Somalia again (this time to hunt terrorists). Why? Because we failed to take control of the region and 'stablize it' earlier (Black Hawk Down). I agree with 'dumbass politicians and an ignorant citizenry', but I think you are part of that ignorant citizenry.

  25. middle class on The Brave New World of Work · · Score: 0

What workers are realizing is that they are not part of the middle class. The fact is there is no more middle class. True, there are middle income families, but they have no more control over that income then a minimum wage worker. Because the company they work for owns their means of income, they are just as dependant upon another as unemployed citizens are on welfare. (Luckily, middle income workers have money saved up) As the gap between the upper and lower classes grows, we will see more and more layoffs of this nature.
