I've seen it running just fine on several PPC machines - my iBook G4 (1.25 GB RAM, 1.07 GHz), a pbook G4, a flower pot imac, an out of spec ibook g4 (700MHz) and (amazingly) a g4 cube. I've had no problems with any of my apps (except KisMAC, which has been having some problems related to it being declared illegal in Germany, the place where it was "born"), and only noticed some minor annoyances with spaces and bringing the correct window to the foreground on a switch.
Not when the third party application in question stand a very high chance of causing this behavior. From Applications Enhancer's website:
Once loaded, the APE module performs the needed modifications (such as redefining the minimize window action, or customizing the standard Apple menu) on the launched application memory space In other words, it changes the executable code in memory of a running application. Gee, what are the odds that changing the underlying application would cause such a module to *not* wreak havoc on a system?
So you say that by this:
Richard Stallman wants everything to be free because he's a shoeless, shirtless, tieless bum. What a neanderthal. You actually meant this:
I was criticising Stallman's lack of decorum, respect for his forum, general hygiene, and manners. What I understood was that you meant "free as in beer" in your use of the word free - as the context would seem to indicate (why? because you called him a bum - and bums like free beer). I was merely indicating that Stallman does not advocate for everything to be free as in beer. Spare me the ad hominems, just because I'm clarifying Stallman's position doesn't mean I'm a fanboy.
Wow, for such a low uid, I'm surprised you haven't yet learned how to distinguish the difference between free as in beer and free as in speech. Stallman wholeheartedly encourages the latter - but the former not at all; have you read the GPL? Or are you so obsessed with appearance that you missed the message entirely?
When the OS crashes it blackscreens... but I wouldn't say the information it gives is useful at all. I've found that/Library/Logs/panic.log has almost always given me useful information as to the source of a kernel panic. It gets dumped whenever the kernel panics (i.e. the 4 language error). Up until Jaguar, I believe, kernel panics dumped all that information to the screen, as well as to panic.log, but they replaced that behavior with the much less frightening (to the average user anyway) 4 language error.
As to your spinning beach ball issues - I've always found that killing the finder (sudo killall -9 Finder.app) took care of those (of course, that's only if you've always got a terminal window open, but there is always ssh), and/or waiting til it resolves itself - I don't believe the beach ball that happens when a network drive loses its connection is indicative of an honest to god deadlock.
Never seen one hit my line, but I have in fact hit a seagull with a stunt kite (which can reach speeds upwards of 60 miles an hour) - it survived, but I'm not sure for how long; it was very disoriented.
Actually - I read that as VOIP certainly being excluded from the ban (though I agree there isn't much in the article). But my point really is how are they defining VOIP - I think there are and will be plenty of services that utilize packetized voice over the internet that don't necessarily resemble "Internet Phone Service" but by my definition certainly are VOIP. If you're going to ban a tax on "Internet Services" it seems awfully strange to exclude certain things that are no less internet services than any thing else.
Hmm - how does Voice Over Internet Protocol not constitute internet access? Will this then be applicable to things like Skype, and other hybrid (i.e. video/voice/chat) VOIP services that don't resemble POTS so strongly?
heavy anti-terrorism outfit I can just hear the marketing copy:

HTML is bad for drinking contests, because it takes all those hula hoops that you put in a row and only shows them as one smorgasbord. So, if you would say that not being represented fully is a bad thing, then the HTML part of the internet is bad for pilates.
What's that you say? Your post wasn't meant as a mad lib? My apologies.
Fine, quibble over my word choice - point is, a tube adds (audible) elements of the signal that aren't originating (per se) from the signal source and thus is quite different from a solid state amp. Doesn't change the essence of my original point, that being that comparing different speaker cables to the difference between tubes and solid state amps is a really bad analogy.
Okay - hang on a minute now, there is quite a noticeable difference between analog tube amps and digital amps - if you take an oscilloscope to them you'd actually be able to see the difference. I think, primarily, the tube adds noise to the signal that some people prefer, but either way, that's a whole different discussion from the absurdity of $7000 speaker cables. I doubt even a tuned machine could tell the difference between a decent set of RadioShack speaker cables and these ridiculous Anjou cables, let alone a human ear.
This may be wishful thinking, but I believe it's a lot harder to believably say that "if you don't pass the terrorists win." Then again - they could say "if you don't pass the pirates win," and it might be sufficiently sensationalistic to get it passed. Cause lord knows, we can't have pirates kicking around in this day and age.
Particularly in Radiohead's case. Nigel Godrich, Radiohead's producer, is effectively a member of the band, and a well respected one at that. If the GP doesn't believe me, he should listen to the difference between Pablo Honey (which Godrich had no hand in) and every subsequent Radiohead album.
The katana suffers the same malady as any other sword of it's size and weight - thrust at me with a katana, if I'm holding a rapier, without first controlling my blade and you're finished. Mind you, if you take a cut to my neck with a katana, and I try to block rather than deflect with my rapier, I'm finished. The katana is primarily a slashing weapon.
Same for the idiot girl wearing the LEDs: handling the bricks of modelling clay out at an airport is not what a blinkenlights dork normally does Just to be clear, she was not handling "bricks" of modeling clay - there were a few (very) small pieces of clay holding components in, and she allegedly was holding some play-dough (though I haven't read any confirmation of that) - she also did in fact respond when questioned about the purpose of her device.
Remember folks, paranoia tends to lead to the distortion of facts, and leads people to mistake eccentricity for "omg terrorist!"
And to those arguing that she's lucky she didn't get shot...what sense does it make to shoot hot lead at somebody who a) might be strapped with C4, and b) is therefore clearly willing to die, and therefore would be motivated to wire a dead man's switch into their device.
But how are they supposed to outsource maintenance and monitoring jobs overseas if critical infrastructure controls aren't connected to the internet:P?
How about just "Leotard" :P

Wow, that was a very well reasoned, well thought out response to my criticism of your post.
If you don't give a shit, why bother even posting?

Ahem....last I checked a 100% increase in the efficiency of anything isn't a *small* step.

(Sorry, couldn't help myself)
Somehow I think you'll reconsider your position when you or someone you know survives a car accident.

Would it not also indicate to females that you have a higher likelihood of purchasing a certain bridge?
A fool and his money are soon parted...

Hehe - looks like Godwin kicked in a little early in this discussion :P
And here I thought your nopennies idea was that he's on his way to being disbarred, ostracized and flat-fucking broke.
