    I'm assuming you're on Windows...

    Real alternative - al Alternative will allow you to play RealMedia files without having to install RealPlayer or RealOne Player. Supported are: RealAudio (.ra .rpm), RealMedia (.rm .ram .rmvb .rpx .smi .smil), RealText (.rt), ReadPix (.rp). It also supports RealMedia content that is embedded in webpages. RealMedia .smi and .smil files are not fully supported, only the first part will usually be played. This is a limitation of the current Media Player Classic. The RealMedia Browser plugin supports Internet Explorer, Opera, Mozilla and Netscape.

    I was so happy when my CurrencyConverter.app compiled.

    Day job is becoming C# and if I can write all my stuff in Something# then it'd be quite nice.

    The only thing vaguely Gecko about Safari is the User Agent string which states that is is 'like Gecko'

    WebKit contains WebCore and JavaScriptCore which are based on KHTML and KJS, AFAIK.

    Wasn't it Win16 apps? I know there were people working on a Win32 emulation, but I'm not sure how well that ever worked.

    Also, didn't IBM license Windows from Microsoft for this? I seem to recall "OS/2 for Windows" or some such product.

    I didn't say it was an answer to everything, nor did I say I could get your soundcard to work.

    If you look at the original comment, and my reply, you'll see that OS X fill the needs offered.

    OS X needs to be run on Apple hardware, it's true. There are things about OS X which suck too.

    I'm sorry you don't have a Mac for whatever reason you need for your Soundblaster card to work, but please get a clue. I can't get my cheap-as eMac to run Solaris natively, do you see me whining about that? No.

    Also, don't take posts that are followed by ;) too seriously. Welcome to humour on The Internet.
