    What does this mean? I have not seen the CDs at this price in record stores. Does that mean that the record stores buy them at $10? If so, they'll just keep the prices the same and laugh all the way to the bank, won't they?

    It would fill up the atmosphere with a lot of debris and dust, blocking sunlight and doing not very nice things to your lungs.

    This point has been brought up before: even if the article is real, Microsoft may just want the common perception to be that they are really scared of Linux. If they portray Linux as a true competitor, then maybe they aren't a monopoly.

    thats great if you're a company with the money to spend, but a small company or private consumer isn't going to spend $200 to fix a problem with a $200 piece of software.

    Best tech support in the world? #debian and #linpeople on irc.openprojects.net. They correctly diagnosed my problem (use of windows) and helped me get a really nice solution (linux) running.

    Maybe I'm misunderstanding the GPL, but can't you call GPL'ed libraries from your proprietary binary?

    But Honda doesn't charge you to continue running your '89 as it is now. You only have to pay if you want upgrades or fixes. And if the fix is for something that should not have happened at all, they will fix it free of charge (recall).

    This is completely untrue. I have been called "sheltered" on many occasions. So have many of friends. These "sheltered" people are the most stable, understanding, and happy people I know. We understand how these things can be dangerous, and avoid them. Its not living under a rock, its choosing carefully which rocks you are going to overturn.

    Plants, like us, need oxygen for their respiration. They photosynthise to create a lot of what they need, and kick out more O2 to the atmosphere than they will use, but there still needs to be a high enough O2 concentration in the atmosphere for them to take some of it back in.
