Now I don't condone piracy, but the pirates in Mayalsia and China have been providing Episode II and the original Trilogy on DVD for a while now... and amazingly, it's high quality stuff too!
Now I'm not saying that I necessarily like or agree with Verisign or some of their absurd business practices (such as their clever domain renewal cards), but can you honestly say ICANN is much better? Remember, this is the group that promised democratic elections, and then had those elections taken away. In my humble opinion, they should take some outside business advice, even if it is from Verisign.
You know, readnotify.com does something like this already. When you send an email through their servers, it adds hidden scripts & other non-script tracking stuff to your message so that no matter what, you know exactly when (and where) the person read the message.
I'd say there's something wrong with your USB setup (controller, hubs, etc.) rather than Windows. I've had nothing but flawless experiences with USB and M$ Windows - even during the various M$ OS betas I've been on.
I carry a CB radio with me when I travel and overheard some truckers talking about their companies tracking their speed using GPS. Has anybody heard anything about this and can you point me in the direction to an article?
When the artists actually start getting the money that the RIAA & record company are holding on to, I'll stop pirating. Heck, they're getting more money out of me this way - I've gone out and bought the most CDs that I have ever bought in a year.
I read about metric time a few years ago, and it would create a "solution" to leap year day... but then I, and many folks like me, wouldn't be able to celebrate our birthdays - except on a designated leap day, which isn't even in February - it's in APRIL!
The teacher I had for computer science my senior year in high school... not only could she not teach incredibly well (at the end of the 2nd semester, we had gotten to 2 dimensional arrays in BASIC! UGH! Not like I had to listen or anything... she told me I could do whatever the hell I wanted for the entire year), but she had a tendency to give written exams for computer science... you shouldn't have written exams in computer science! It doesn't reflect your coding ability.
In a related story, LSU didn't let us use calculators on our math credit exams... how the hell are you supposed to do COMPLICATED logrithims without a calculator, slide rule, or log table?!
Yup, there are plenty of BBSes still up and running, especially in the Houston area... and hell, door games are still supported, including LORD - www.gameport.com
University of Louisiana at Lafayette... they check to make sure you're 18 and then if you're 21 or over they give you a sticker/mark/armband... its a quite futile attempt to stop underage drinking. The university police really don't care, but they'll sure as hell confiscate video tapes & equipment! (see theafterschoolspecial.net for details on that!):-)
Most of the college parties I've gone to have had UPs (University Police) at the door checking IDs, but once I get in, the bartender doesn't care if you're underage or not... so the ID is really quite useless - unless the local clubs require you to be 21.:-p
The CD warning label only says "Does not play on PC or Mac"... how about Sun SPARCstations or a high-end server that doesn't qualify as a "PC". I say somebody has a damn good lawsuit on their hands.:-)
Offtopic??? This is an april fools joke, is it not? Shouldn't this post have been modded to a "Redudent" perhaps, rather than an "Offtopic"? That's just insulting.
Oh well, the reasoning behind it is a good reason (i.e. interference) and people who use capitalism to their advantage always win. I'm sick and tired of this "free love" crap.:-P

Freaky, eh?

All we ever needed - more things for idiots to do while driving.

That's what this is for.
Just imagine what this is going to do to the Playboy Channel and Spice TV....

And there was an article on Slashdot about it too... http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=02/05/10/131520 0&mode=thread

Yeah, I have a great piece of land in downtown Kabul that I'll sell.
Oh come on, that doesn't count as a movie. :-P
Now if they only made Parasite Eve - the original cinematic RPG - into a movie. :-)
Hell the copyright on Microsoft Windows doesn't even start until 1985!
