Suse 9.1 Reviews?

Here.. It involves tweaking the kernel a little bit, bit it's not a major hassle. 3D acceleration is now working fine on my Radeon 9200 under SuSE 9.1:)
I think the real trick is to switch off the "Use register arguments (EXPERIMENTAL)" option, as this is known to break binary only modules.
"... Based on his belief in Linux, Daniel founded Ignalum Software, Inc. in 2002 and created the Ignalum Linux OS, when it became clear that without some of his input making its way into mainstream Linux, Linux will likely continue to suffer as a high maintainence Operating System."
Hahaha! Cheers mate! There was me slaving over a hot server, and your mainstream Linux input has made things so much more low-maintainence!
I've successfully run both Photoshop 6 and 7 under Crossover Office on various Linux distros. They ran absolutely fine. I haven't tried CS, but I can't imagine there would be too much trouble.
I've NEVER heard a command line referred to as a TUI!
I think it's referring to actual text based user interfaces with equivalents of windows, menus, buttons, etc, rather than straight command line interfaces.
Something ncurses based like the Debian/Slackware installers, for example.
Seeing as we're water based life forms, mapping out the exact location of all the water deposits in the solar system seems like a pretty good idea to me, if we're ever going to explore it.
I get your point though, where are the frozen alcohol deposits?!;)
Oh well, the ter'rists have won. Let's all sit around and wait for the Sun to explode.
Seriously, who really needs nuclear ballistic missiles anyway? Why be so obvious? You can see those coming a mile off! A warhead in the back of a taxi would do the trick just fine, and wouldn't need expensive propellant or guidance systems either.
Meh, ballistics are yesterdays scaremongering. (Except for when I'm playing Civ 3, they're quite handy then.)
No science, just commercial space travel. Yes, smashing crap into the moon is completely without merit, but to me it's exciting that it's even possible for someone with the $6M cash and no experience in rocketry to think "Hmm...I think I'll throw something at the moon today."
Go for it, guys. Run pointless, self serving commercial space launches. Make it cheap.
There really isn't *too* much of a stretch of imagination between this, and a University landing a portable, robotic observatory on the moon for $500,000.
Britain != England
:)
Britain = England + Scotland + Wales
I'm English, and I do not wish to be associated with the Welsh, thank you very much
Could always slap a Type-R sticker on the side of it.
Yeah, they're very nice, but THIS is the UNIX-nerd's dream machine!
Well, Photoshop 7 runs fine under Crossover Office on Linux, so Billy-Boy had better pucker up.
They're still pretty new, but they're in charge of Knights of the Old Republic 2 for LucasArts. Which is nice :)
That should set them up with enough cash to be able to work on their own projects.
Hmmmmm...Maybe (ex Black Isle) Obsidian Entertainment would be interested in acquiring the Baldur's Gate license.
Here's hoping!
...profit?
Full story again next Tuesday.

Don't you just love how you can change the captions on these images? :)

Good luck with the slashdotting

As always, YMMV :)

Text based user interfaces? DOS Games?
What is this? The Dark Ages?
Ah, I see. We must be experiencing some latency from the frame dragging.
"My iHovercraft is full of eels!"

"WARNING Here comes a gigantic toy!"
I've spent far too much time on the net to not be intimidated by a message like that!
There's a thread on 2.6 in the forums.
It'll probably be ready in about a week or so, I reckon. (Looking forward to it!)
Apparently, the Funkometer was right off the scale.
Nah, you just have to attach a Pringles can to the front of it.
Hehe, I used to have my user agent string claim I was running Mozilla 0.0000001 on a ZX Spectrum 48 :)
You forgot to close the tags! Now, the rest of Slashdot will be anti-windows, pro-linux/mac...oh, wait...
I've seen Motorhead a couple of times, and I have to say that it's still possible to hear some loud noises over the blaring tinnitus.
