Let me see your finished product and I will judge it for you. Sniping at somebody who might be an amateur roboticist and possibly wrote his first Java script is easy. Putting this into being isn't.
Wanker.
While I love the low-cost aspect of this project, I am worried about the safety aspects: No air traffic control registering, and how did they prevent the bloody thing from hitting another human on the way down?
I have a OLPC XO (Geode) running Sugar and an Aspire One (Atom) running Intrepid. While the Aspire is far more powerful and runs rings around the XO, I still mainly use the the XO.
Why?
Well, for one I can take it into any meeting without annoying my colleagues with the constant fan noise. It doesn't get warm. It's completely silent. It looks cute, women tend to be drawn to it, and it's a doddle to use.
The Acer excels in multimedia applications and to watch movies on, but for day to day work, I schlep my XO around with me.
I just bought an Acer Aspire One after the eee I wanted was pretty much out of stock everywhere. While the Linpus apps are mostly rubbish compared to the EEE's Xandros, the machine is well built and does what it says on the tin (albeit with rubbish batterylife).
I bought it to replace my destroyed Macbook, and I have to admit that I don't particularly miss it.

"..I'm sure that the US will be equally happy to extradite all those Americans who hack into European criminals' computers to face charges over here."
Wouldn't there be a cue? Or even a rise in hacker related offenses of all those who want to move into an environment devoid of neo-evangelicals, the Homeland Security Agency and -most of all- Americans?

Poppycock. Damn Small Linux will fly on this baby. As will OpenBSD (and every other BSD) with a lean windowmanager like wm. Just because YOU aren't able to use anything but bloatsoft, doesn't mean the rest of us can't.
Why is Theo de Raadt so grumpy? NN

I am not sure he lives in Breton. You might want to check your spellchecker. This is Britain.
I'll be headed that way once my mom passes.
The alternative to waiting for your mother to die would be to get your own place.

I would have never thought I'd be happy with a Windows Mobile device, but the X1 is stylish, rock solid and syncs well with my Linux work stations.

Have you taken your Ritalin today?

Meh.
Plenty of glaciers to turn Mars into a blue world?
