Yeah, the bookmarks aren't quite fixed because they have brought in some newer bugs, but that's because the bookmark code has been overhauled.

They also added a cookie manager that has an option for IE-like security zones (it is better than IE's of course). The jury is still out if I like it or not. I just block all 3rd party cookies.

I have an old box (12MHz originally upgraded to a 200MHz) that I want to turn into my webserver/samba server. I have all the hardware, my RH 8, and an introduction into linux, however I really want to know how to do stuff. I prefer books as they are usually are put together better than online tutorials. I've been looking for a book (no bigger than my keyboard please) that would help me get to know my new-fangled OS.

Since I vowed a long time ago not to ever by a * For Dummies! book, I think I might get this one. Thanks Slashdot (alvinc)!

Check it out. Go take a look at the beginning of the series. It's almost a totally different show. I've only seen 18 episodes, but I marvel at how different people are between then and now.

One of the things I noticed the most was how the crew seemed to be in it for themselves at the beginning, while the ending shows (We're So Screwed for instance) show how much of a family they have become.

In regards to your opinion that the characters are two-dimensional, I really think you need to watch more of the show. You see the girl as a token love interest, but you don't know how it was, and how long it took for that relationship to bloom. It's complex, and that's what makes the characters great... the ability to change. I'm sure you would have noticed these changes had you have seen the entire series. I know I'm just getting started.

Oh, and I have a ReplayTV too (I love it), but for some reason my Enterprise Ep's get the volume turned way down. The background music is up way too high and I can't hear the dialog. I'm not sure if it is Replay or if it is the station it is recording from. But it's not Farscape's problem.

  5. Call me an optimist on Farscape Finale Tonight · · Score: 5, Informative

Call me an optimist, but I think the Save Farscape campaign has the ability to bring this thing back. Most likely not on Sci-Fi, but maybe something like showtime. I'd subscribe to showtime for Farscape.

One of the best quotes I can remember about Farscape was something along the lines of "Farscape is a 5-season novel, and we won't rest until we get to find out what happens at the end." That makes this more than a "we want more" campaign. We want the resolution!

I have heard rumors of a Farscape movie. Can anyone post any info on that?

For the record, I never watched farscape until a few weeks ago, now I'm watching it from the beginning, and I think it is a wonderful series. I haven't yet done anything to help the campaign, although I'm thinking about it. I did hang up one of the posters on my door. (his one)

I am a fan of the way it is now. Sure, I've been accustom to it all of my life, but the way it works now seems to work with the way I think.

I think of it like driving a remote controlled car. I navigate the car around until I hit the table. I carefully execute the "backup-and-turn" maneuver and then head off in my new direction.

I think of browsing as a thread that can be directed at my will. And the neat thing about this thread is I can make a copy of it and change the new thread's direction, all with a middle click (open in new tab)!

Also, what if Joe Sixpack doesn't want to (or can't) use multiple tabs/windows and he needs to get information from two pages back and forth? After a little bit of back-and-forthing his entire list of previous sites will be just those two pages, instead of a longer list of previously visited URL's.

You also have to worry about re-defining the most widely used UI widget just for the sake of, what? Changing it to it's logically perfect definition? I'm sure I'm not the only person to say it, but: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

Isn't this part of the reason why IE had that huge hole in it? They opened help and it ran as what you would call a default zone. Then they ran other [bad] stuff from there. I'm sure moz programmers would make sure that didn't happen (insert free software .vs non free software speech). I do agree with the fact that moz doesn't use security zones. For instance, my school network runs rampid with viruses. I don't want low security there. I think that the best way to go would be to use a proxy (maybe someone could make a specific one for moz and put it on mozdev).

But I'm not one of those over-cautious people that need privacy everywhere. I see all pictures, use flash, and have cookies enabled for site only. I'm just really glad all those pop-ups are gone. =)
