FWIW, the -1 overrated is, for me at least, a moderator's way of saying that the post didn't deserve the +1 karma bonus. I.e., it says "It is interesting, just not that interesting." I have seen too many posts with the +1 bonus that didn't deserve it (and, yes, I did moderate them accordingly).

It is not DRM that prevents you from copying it from the iPod. That is because you are acessing the internal storage structure of the music player in the iPod. It is DRM that makes you authorize a computer to play a song you downloaded from the ITMS.
Let's see, on the iPod you can compose a piece, put it on your iPod, and
cannot put it on a different computer from the iPod without jumping through hoops.
You must be using the Microsoft's iPod. The only time you have a problem moving a song from one computer to another is if you purchased it from the iTunes Music Store (and authorizing a new computer is no big deal). If you ripped the song from a CD, or encoded one of your own compositions, there is no DRM.
It's very similar to the Segway, certainly in the same market, and it's name only differs by one letter. Surely Segway's lawyers won't be happy.
You obviously never followed the link (but don't let that stop you from making comments like these). This was a UserFriendly Llink of the Day a looong time ago (around the time the Segway was released).

Since I have built my own DVR (four tuners, hardware decoder, using this software, I would really like to be able to upgrade to HDTV tuner cards and keep my DVR.
By dedicated, I mean that there is only one NIC talking and one NIC receiving. As long as you have two NICs talking over the same channel you will have collissions and a degraded network. The RF channel is basically a "dumb hub."
If it works for that it'd be well cool and would give speeds close to a wired network...
Actually, no. A wired network provides a dedicated connection, while a wireless provides a shared one. This is basically the difference between 10baseT and 10base2. The shared connection (wireless and base2) will have to deal with collissions and will yield about 20-30% max load (depending on the kind of traffic). This is why your G network will only yield 11Mbps and not the full 54Mbps. Your 100baseT network will blow away anything wireless, unless you want to go with a dedicated wireless link (and then, um, why is it wireless?).
But I had a problem when I tried playing it at a resolution other than 1280x1024. I couldn't read some of the text (especially when trying to join an internet game). Another problem that UT2k3 had was the size of the maps. Even with a broadband connection, transferring a 10 MB map takes a looooooong time.
An easier solution would be to publish a list of songs (or links to them) from "honest, independent labels" and let people purchase them on their own. It would save them money on gathering the codes and may expose people to new music.
Since the GTK license allows keeping the source closed and the QT doesn't I desired to know if this could be used in closed source apps. How is that a troll?
I would guess that it is considered a troll because Qt does allow you to keep your source closed. All you have to do is purchase a Qt license from Trolltech. Considering the quality of the toolset, and its reasonable price, most people don't think this is a problem.
Or, you could find another case. Perhapse one with an external power (DC) supply? FWIW, I have been trying to build an EPIA based system to use as a set-top box and even those with "extremely quiet" fans in the power supplies are still too noisy.

According to the fish, it gets 5 hours.

I think the plastics in the computer will hold on to those odors for a looooong time.

Turning off the drop shadows in OS X is quite easy to do.
MS will be making money by licensing their DRM to world+dog. Apple makes money off of iPods, MS off of DRM.

I liked the article that Crazy Apple Rumors had on it.
I don't want to say it, but....
Do they taste good on toast?
Sorry, it had to be said.
1) They don't speak English natively.
2) They are an idiot and probably use "then" instead of "than."

Are you listening Hauppauge?

let it be better that RiverWorld! I loved the book but SciFi's miniseries sucked, big time.

Just a thought...
Could it be that someone has been watching too many episodes of "Zoids" on Cartoon Network?
