..."mostly worthless GPS navigation and DVD units..."
Mostly worthless? Am I the only one whose hide has been saved by "worthless GPS navigation and DVD units"?
OK, OK, maybe the software is klunky sometimes
("continue to merge left for 1.5 miles") and the CG voice is annoying, but when you're lost and/or late I wouldn't describe the GPS/Nav system as worthless by a long shot.
For those who just want to see it, check out this pic among many others at the actual review, instead of the IWILL site. Also check out the installation guide
I noticed on one of the diagrams that the orbit of the slingshot itself degrades after each launch pick-up. Maybe the decrease in orbit isn't very significant, but would this system require self-adjustment? How would the system stay in service over the long term?
I can't say enough about Lance Olsen. The only work he has out is "Freaknest" but it's an amazing novel. I expect more from this author in the years to come - truly a master.

This means the site is slashdotted or... they're telling us that the borg will be playing a major role in this one?
...or does the idea for the filesystem sound an aweful lot like the BeOS? Specifically, Gates says "The file system should be more like e-mail archives, where you can search and sort by any of a number of criteria. And it's got to be snappy as heck." Hmm, criteria eh? Kind of like attributes?. Snappy huh? Kind of like a dbms?
Additionaly, eBay representatives have said that they are considering a plan to offer complementary health care benefits to eBay users who have been screwed out of $1000 or more per month in a bid (pun intended) to keep suckers coming back for more.
Professor Noel Sharkey: "But there's no need to worry, as although they can escape they are perfectly harmless and won't be taking over just yet." Followed by uncomfortably long-winded diabolical laughter?
In this article RMS demonstrates the freedom to freely fling the words "free" and "freedom" while discussing how he feels about the freedom of free software and how it can free people everywhere.
On the other hand, I draw attention to the following analogy: When IBM steers "customers to its own products even when products made by other software vendors may be more suitable", is that not quite similar to when an auditing firm (read Arthur Andersen) steers customers to its own consulting services even when other consultancies may be more suitable? It may be perfectly legal and maybe even fair to do this, but perhaps it's better in the long-term to sell the "right" product.
