  10. Re:Expectation of privacy? on Police Can Obtain Cellphone Location Records Without a Warrant · · Score: 1

I know I'm going up against many years of case law here, but... the Fourth Amendment doesn't say anything about privacy. It says no searches and seizures without a warrant.

So the question is: Is it legal for MetroPCS to hand over the data, presumably in violation of their privacy policy and CPNI laws? Or did they do it because they were threatened and intimidated?

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Just last week I read about a psycho woman in Oregon who bashed a guy's skull in with an aluminum baseball bat on their first date, when he went out there to finally visit her in person after a 2 year long online relationship. They only gave her a sentence of a few MONTHS in jail for the incident, despite her planning the whole thing and getting another woman to assist her with it - AND saying she got the idea from something she read or saw that said it only takes 7 pounds of pressure to snap someone's neck. Which person are you more concerned will do people physical harm in the future??

If you're going to cite something like this, you really should provide a link to back up your claims.

She didn't "bash his skull in", she hit him and fractured his skull and caused two lacerations. He was treated and released released from hospital. No mention of a sentence of "a few months" in that article, or any other I could find. The woman in question is being held on $100,000 bail, and appears for an arraignment on April 20.

Some of our clients require us to carry "Errors and Omissions" liability insurance, which costs us upwards of $15k a year. Along with with the insurance, we have a pretty detailed EULA agreement covering bugs, etc.

If you're writing any kind of software that could directly affect the safety of others, insurance is a must.

  16. Realism in T:L on Tron: Legacy — Too Much Imagination Required? · · Score: 1

Someone earlier here pointed out what he/she thought was ridiculous. The fact that the Recognizers burned "simulated" rocket fuel, threw up dust clouds when they landed, etc. His/her objections was why would a computer program/simulation need to burn fuel and throw up dust clouds?

What I got from T:L is that CLU was TRYING to emulate the "real world" because he wanted to be a "real person". As to the question of how a computer program (CLU/Flynn) even knew about dust clouds (for example) I think it was clear that CLU had access to a lot of digital information (pictures/videos/text) that allowed him to "see" how the outside/real world functioned, and he emulated it (all while trying to perfect it).

Got Your Audio disabled by Youtube? Fix That by doing this.

Copyright resolve how to not get your videos copyrighted

This is the step-by-step process to get your audio back:

    1) Go to "My Videos".
    2) Select "Resolve Copyright" on the video you are having copyright issues with. OR, go to the video itself and choose "resolve copyright" from there.
    3) Scroll down and pick the option "I want to learn more about this dispute process".
    4) Scroll down and pick the option "Take me to the dispute form".
    5) Pick option #2 and PASTE the following statement into the text bar next to it;

"Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use."

    6) Fill out the rest of the info on the page. Use your REAL name where it asks for it. Choose "Continue" when all information has been filled out.
    7) Scroll down on the next page and select "Submit dispute".

Within 2-3 minutes your video's audio should be back!

Occasionally this will not work. Like I said in the video, this copyright covers 99% of copyrighted entertainment (From what I found out at least). Also, this will ONLY apply if you are not making any profit off your videos. If you intend to become a youtube partner, I would not suggest doing this.
