It's just a string in a database somewhere. They could literally charge anything. 25,000$ is just some arbitrary number. It seems outrageous to pay that much when there are so many cheaper alternatives available. Maybe if you have a brand new company, get a cheap one first, then go for the expensive one in a few years if things are going well.

    According to wikipedia:

Registry policies allow for rapid takedown of non-compliant domains, for violations including imposturous registration of another's names, and proscribed uses, including pornography or adult services/applications.

So yeah, it's basically a domain for narcissists to show off. It is totally ridiculous, and I can't imagine anyone getting this.

  20. Tell that to Starbucks. They partnered with Arizona State University several years ago and started offering 1 free bachelor's degree to every employee (each semester the employee pays up front, and gets reimbursed at the end of the semester), and also provide free health insurance to all employees with a minimum average of 20 hours per week. Starbucks is usually considered an entry-level job, but they recognize that helping their employees with these basic needs benefits them in the long run. That's how all companies should be. Many are and get no credit for it.

I would disagree about FF not having a hidden agenda. They used to be innovative and supported standards better than the other browsers, and had a ton of incredibly useful and unique addons. Over the years they have lost all these things and just follow whatever Chrome is doing now. You used to be able to fully customize the UI, but you can't even do that now. All the awesome addons broke with FF 57. They may not track you like google, but their agenda now is to copy chrome in every way possible.
