    Sure, it isn't as fast as DDR, but it's faster than any other storage media... It's not only faster, but cheaper as well.

    Well, just a week ago I bought 100 CD-Rs for $5 (on sale, of course). That's 70 GB, or 14 GB/$. So maybe HDDs aren't quite the cheapest storage medium.

    The "science" in Jurassic Park was merely a plot device to allow dinosaurs to run around chomping people: great Hollywood fodder.
    Or maybe it's a stepping stone to get to the ethical question of whether bringing back things from the past is a Good Thing. Not everyone is a sellout, some people care about humanity and nature.

    It is just as easy to sit through an American Government class without learning anything as it is to sit through Algebra or English and not learn anything. The only precondition is that you have to not care, which is easily met.

    While you have a good point, your first argument isn't entirely accurate. If the tracking features were turned off, the parent would assume that the child was up to no good. However, if they left the cell phone by itself while they went off to have lots of drugs and promiscuous sex, the parent wouldn't have any idea; so it's still worthless.

    I entirely agree that school fund-raisers have gotten out of hand. My friend went around "selling pizzas to" (forcing pizzas upon) her friend's parents and her relatives for about $15 each. I'd be surprised if the school saw $3 of that. We can get much better pizza delivered to the house for less than that, with enough left over to pay the school some money as well.

    If people are doing fund-raisers to provide products, then find reasonably-priced ones. Otherwise, just let me give your school $5 or $10 and be happy about it. Just be sure you don't pocket the money.

    A good point. I might also add that the original poster's idea of changing the touchpad interface by app is also probably a bad idea. Inconsistencies tend to confuse people. (That's the reason I don't like the recent Microsoft innovation of menus that hide things you haven't used in a while)

    Odd, I was wondering the same about your post. Maybe these people like chemistry and poetry and decided to put them together. I can't see how blending one's interests can be considered a waste of time.
