Sure, it isn't as fast as DDR, but it's faster than any other storage media... It's not only faster, but cheaper as well.
Well, just a week ago I bought 100 CD-Rs for $5 (on sale, of course). That's 70 GB, or 14 GB/$. So maybe HDDs aren't quite the cheapest storage medium.
No one's bitching. All the person is asking is whether there's a whether he can change Microsoft's mind. Nowhere does he insult MS. In fact, he states that there is a completely justifiable reason for not letting anyone cache the updates. Just settle down, really. Maybe you should go to bed.
I read Jurassic Park long before it became a movie. Great.
The "science" in Jurassic Park was merely a plot device to allow dinosaurs to run around chomping people: great Hollywood fodder. Or maybe it's a stepping stone to get to the ethical question of whether bringing back things from the past is a Good Thing. Not everyone is a sellout, some people care about humanity and nature.
Anyone that claims to have gotten out of high school without learning these concepts and our rights as US citizens must've been the most complete fucking moron on the planet
It is just as easy to sit through an American Government class without learning anything as it is to sit through Algebra or English and not learn anything. The only precondition is that you have to not care, which is easily met.
...Or it makes you look like a freedom-of-speech activist, who is willing to take the good with the bad as long as it keeps everyone free to do as they wish.
While you have a good point, your first argument isn't entirely accurate. If the tracking features were turned off, the parent would assume that the child was up to no good. However, if they left the cell phone by itself while they went off to have lots of drugs and promiscuous sex, the parent wouldn't have any idea; so it's still worthless.
You couldn't sue MS for this. You could, however, accuse them of breaking this law, but you'd have to wait for IE 7. I imagine the officals would have to look into it.

gamegirladvance has been kicking around for some time now, and has provided a great combination of gaming news, personal stories, and theoretical discusisons.
Theoretical discussions? If they're so great and they only have *theoretical* discussions, just imagine how great they'd be with actual discussions.
If you create a new life form, do you have the right to destroy it?
I can see it now...
Critic: "You can't kill this creature, it has feelings just like the rest of us." Doctor: "Nonsense. I made this creature's DNA, and I don't remember giving any feelings."
Googles new is a mess. You get the same stories about 10 times on the page, and the same topics covered every day for weeks now. If a human were sorting them, it'd show a bit more...intelligence
If he minded news being repeated 10 times a day, I don't think he'd be reading Slashdot
I entirely agree that school fund-raisers have gotten out of hand. My friend went around "selling pizzas to" (forcing pizzas upon) her friend's parents and her relatives for about $15 each. I'd be surprised if the school saw $3 of that. We can get much better pizza delivered to the house for less than that, with enough left over to pay the school some money as well.
If people are doing fund-raisers to provide products, then find reasonably-priced ones. Otherwise, just let me give your school $5 or $10 and be happy about it. Just be sure you don't pocket the money.
A good point. I might also add that the original poster's idea of changing the touchpad interface by app is also probably a bad idea. Inconsistencies tend to confuse people. (That's the reason I don't like the recent Microsoft innovation of menus that hide things you haven't used in a while)
Odd, I was wondering the same about your post. Maybe these people like chemistry and poetry and decided to put them together. I can't see how blending one's interests can be considered a waste of time.
...As shown here.
To harness the energy one must stop the vibration from occuring. Therefore, you are the idiot.
None. I never implied that I could re-use them. I said they are a storage medium, which they are.

Next!
Actually, "an anonymous reader" called it the "most incisive" review. Taco said nothing.

+1, lame (but just barely funny) reference to another /. article
Great.

It looks like this can easily be used to illegalize proxy servers entirely, and use thereof.

To agree with the sibling post, yes, this is very cool. Does anyone have a link to where I can actually buy one (or two or three)?
...To you. Believe it or not, some people actually agree with abortion. Learn something new every day.
