From TFA and TFS...showing that the CIA had the ability to hack Windows 10 months after its launch, despite Microsoft boasting about how hard it would be to hack its new OS...
This was completely unnecessary and unproductive. If you are going to editorialize and add childish zingers like this to your article, people are going to assume the rest of your article is not objective as well and will not take your point seriously. Not to mention that noone is going to be surprised that the collective efforts of the CIA along with a security contractor will be able to crack into an OS during the course of 10 months.
PWC isn't really a financial company. Its mostly Audit and Consulting. For the uninitiated with the big [s]five[/s] four, they hire fresh grads and sell their services for $300/hr. This financial backing is how they became one of the largest conglomerates of firms in the world. If you aren't familiar with the fairly large imprint these consulting firms have worldwide, I would recommend you take a peek when you have a chance.
According to the advisory itself:
19.08.2016 PwC contacted
22.08.2016 Meeting with PwC, informed them about the impact and the details
of the vulnerability and responsible disclosure

13.09.2016 Received a Cease & Desist letter from PwC lawyers
18.11.2016 Informed that 90 days have passed and ESNC is planning to
release a security advisory; asked for any details PwC can share about this
matter including risk, affected versions, how to obtain a patch
22.11.2016 Received another Cease & Desist letter from PwC lawyers
07.12.2016 Public disclosure
So 20% macs have infections on it that they have no reason to counter. Woo.
A stat like how many would actually make it onto a system that would have a reason to guard against that virus would be an important stat to guestimate. If you assume there are hardly any windows machines with rudimentary enough security to accept the majority of these viruses to begin with - a story which would sync with known windows infection rates -, this becomes a nonstory.
But this essential fact wasn't looked at, making this entire story worthless propaganda.
I'm not sure that I understand your car analogy. Are you saying that Windows would be old and beat up? Non functional? Inferior? Heck, it's not even out yet. Please explain.
Look harder. Springfield is in a different state almost every time the gag comes up. (One example, Ep S4E21, Springlield is Six hundred fourty something miles away from Mexico City. Do a circle on a map and only one Springfield lines up. Do another circle for 2653 miles from Orlando - Check S15E17)
"Tiger Woods and Apple Computer is the perfect marriage, with both of us striving to be the best."
Speaking as a Business Major, it always amazes me to what levels of mindless drivel we can achieve to market a product without even the remotest feeling of embarrassment.
True. But telling this to somewone who already has AIDS doesn't help alot, either.
And although I am a minority voice here on Slashdot, I seriously think that they are looking to prevent future security breaches. Of course they are not doing it to feel all warm and fuzzy or whatever, but I do believe it is being done. Call me an unreasonable optimist if you must. And yes, this isn't an easy issue to deal with. Maybe it should have been delt with better by now, but that is a seperate issue.
What I don't understand is how the "flash" at the end of the streak is so clean of an image. Even with crazy f/stop settings and an ISO equiv of 400 - I would imagine a picture in that light would have to have a shutter speed of at most 1/30th of a second, more than enough time to cause blur even to a slowly moving object. Am I off base here?
Are people really prepared to let insurance companies track their every move to save money on car insurance?
Since when has the general public made it a bpoint to care about their Privacy over Money? You think that the existing lack of privacy occured because the masses didn't have a choice, or were just lazy and took shortcuts allowed by corporations?
I was pretty sure when I read the thread title that this was going to be chock full of posts containing bad jokes. And what horrible jokes they are. Truely awful. Bad, I say.
If if is a pain, as I found, I just remove they key from my keyboard. I also did this with my scroll and insert (two keys I had problems with in the past). However I do not believe that the CAPS LOCK key has outlived its usefullness, and a keyboard without it would be premature. I know that some gamers and coders use it for shortcuts. And without the CAPS LOCK key many blog hosts will be out of business. Please think of our economy.
I just wanted to congratulate the submitter. News for nerds and a grade A pun in one go. Well done.

So don't try to be bigger and better because you will be a target. Got it. Thanks, bullshit media!

Step 1: Go to /b/ and post rambling about destroying the media darling Facebook
Step 2: Write an article about your anonymous posting.
Step 3: Profit.
Didn't we (the scientific community) know this already? I could have sworn we did.
Sorry, the Sansa E270.
I believe the largest (single) commercial chips nowadays are owned by Sandisk (6GB), to be used for their up and coming beauty: The Sansa 270.
I assume Samsung has a few tricks up their short term sleeve as well though.

The 138th episode spectacular also says that the cash register says "NRA4EVER", when it doesn't.

We have progressed beyond not reading the article to bold new heights: Not reading the headline. Surely this is a future we can all look foward to.
Speaking as myself, I think you missed the point.

Virtually invincible soldiers, no matter if they are good guys or not, scares me. I hope I'm not the only one.
But it's still over 50% of lost market share. I don't see that as a slight drop, personally.
Signing away your right not to be killed would NOT eliminate a wrongful death suit. Such a contract would be illegal and therefore void.

Animation Shop told me not to listen to your unconstructive criticism of me and my beliefs. You can't break me that easily.
