why should retailers be the ones responsible. if you do not want your kid playing violent video games, don't buy them for him, and confiscate them when you find them. who gave retailers (or lawmakers for that matter) parental responsibility?

ok, i was trolling about the porn thing... but video games? what kid buys his own video games anyway? do you know any kid that has $60? if they do, they most likely have jobs, and are mature enough to be able to handle a violent video game. the restriction by law is not going to keep violent games out of kids hands because the kids are not going to be the ones buying the game anyway, its the parents, who should actually be paying attention to waht thier children play if they are concerned about them being exposed to violence.

The bubble looks kind of warped, and the hole he cut out cetainly looks home made, especially with the bubble on because they are not exactly the same size. He should have just taken a dell case that has a similar bubble already made that actually looks nice, and modify the bubble instead of making a half-assed crappy looking bubble himself

I like case mods, but to make it onto slashdot, i would expect it to be somewhat impressive, not a "why the hell did this make it to slashdot" kinda thing.

well, how would your identity be stolen? they are not stealing your eye, they are stealing a card with your retinal scan on the back. i imagine that what the retinal scan is for is that you present your card, then put your face to a retinal scanner to make sure that the card is not a fake and you say who you are. now i don't like this idea, but i do feel that getting ahold of somebody's card with a retianl scan stored on the chip is no more risky than getting thier traditional id card stolen.

I am suprised it took this long for a broadcaster to finally come out after the PVR people for something like this. I expected it a long time ago when PVR's first hit the scene. I think that instead of putting commercial breaks between the show we will start seeing picture-in-picture commercials or we will see MUCH more product placement in shows, perhaps with the stars of the shows themselves doing advertising like the Truman Show. Either that or an annoying block of text scrolling at the bottom of the screen, however advertisers probably don't feel there is enough sex appeal in scrolling text.

The only thing I know is that PVRs are here to stay, so broadcasters are going to have to change thier business model accordingly.
