I am very curious about TDD and would like to get in deeper, but all of the tutorials that I have seen are writing OO type applications. How would you make use of TDD if you were writing web applications using ASP/VBScript or PHP? Is it possible.
WMB has released a kit that allows you to build a BMW for $200. However, the engine will be a go-kart motor, no windows, and no A-C. But hey, at least you have a BMW.
The Association of C and C++ users has several reviews for C and C++ books.
My favorites are
The C++ Standard Library, by Josuttis
The C++ Programming Language 3rd ed, Stroustrup
I read a lot of good reviews for Accelerated C++; therefore, I have ordered it.
If I had a business, that is the same way that I'd run it. I'd try my best to crush the competition and make the most money. I'm sure most here would agree, eventhough they don't want to.
This is a market that hasn't been tapped yet. Build a website where pet owners can go and buy pet food and supplies and have it delivered to their house. Suprisingly, no one has thought of this. It is definitely a sure win. I know of so many pet owners who wish they could order a pet toy online instead of going all the way to the pet store and buying it there.
If you're really looking for performance, then you should look no further than C#. I wrote a C application and a C# application to compare the performance. The C app was over 1500% slower than the C# app. Then of course, I did have some infinite loops in the C app;-)
My company, EyeBM, has lost so much work because of them...

I wish they'd replace it with the new 5.25 inch disk drives. Those things are fast and hold a lot of data.
