We just put Windows 10 here at our business and the first thing I had to do was rip out half the operating system (thusly neutering it) and block them at the fire wall. All this in the name of simplicity and privacy.

I tend to read things while I'm on the toilet. Since I don't want to bring a tablet into the bathroom with me to read it in web form and risk dropping the tablet into the toilet, Computer World will not be on my reading list anymore.

What type of system are you most comfortable with operating? If it is Microsoft system (for example) you have already got you answer. Are you are looking for a bare-metal hypervisor? Do you need GUI-heavy management tools? What sort of hardware are you going to use (old/new?). Probably looking at a comparison chart would be your best option.
I could tell you what I use and why but that won't do you a bit of good. (kvm, stable and easy).
If there is a coalition of 27 web freedom organizations that have sent a joint letter opposing DRM support, should we (Slashdot as an entity) also write them expressing our opposition?
