Not very worried. Otherwise, economists would be raising the alarm that retirees will be outnumbering workers in 2030. Two-thirds of the federal budget will go to Social Security and Medicare. Taxes will have to go way up to pay for everything else. Automation will be the least of our problems.
Every time a recruiter told me that they had an "URGENT" position to fill, I told them that the hiring manager went on a six-week vacation to India. Recruiters are shocked — SHOCKED! — to discover that the hiring manager was on vacation.
I've been using the Microsoft ergonomic split keyboards for 30 years. But I've always replaced the Dell keyboard at work with a Logitech keyboard ($20). If I brought a Microsoft keyboard ($60) to work, it would walk away from my cube overnight.
Good point. Slashdot was still popular in the 1990's. Unlike today.
I'll have to stop buying skinny vanilla lattes for a month to buy a $100 video card. A grave sacrifice every three years.
The 1990's called and want their blink tags back.
The Gigabyte 1050 Ti 4GB that I paid $100 on sale at NewEgg peaked at $200 and currently list for $180. Not much of an improvement.

Not surprisingly, I got modded down as a troll. But not because of my comment.
You block people when you want to have the last word and not read any follow up replies thereafter.
Never tried Reddit. Slashdot has been my home for 20+ years. I refused to let a bunch of rabble evict me from Internet home.
Funny. I thought it was in the pumpkin.
A large is 20 ounces and I only have one per day. I usually drink 1/2-gallon of fruit juice per week. Otherwise, I drink water.
A skinny vanilla latte every day.

They recommend singing the alphabet song once or "Happy Birthday" twice.
That explains all the fake happy people at work these days.
This didn't end well in SPACE: 1999.

I was a big fan of the IntelliMouse back in the day. These days I'm using either Logitech mouse for gaming or a trackball for desktop.
No wonder my coworkers looked at me funny when I wear my long-sleeve sweater in the weapons bio lab.
Nobody is reposting anything, Chris.
Seven Slashdot user accounts got deleted for linking to a third-party website with a unauthorized reposted image. Creimer 7, Creimertards 0.
My parents ran into that problem on Thanksgiving Day 1968. Beer and no condoms. Not a good mix.
I don't know what my FortNite handle has to do with this.
Corporate security.
Except my company has a corporate policy against using open source software. So that's not an alternative to not paying Oracle.
Many applications require Java to run. I can't see my company paying $2M+ per year for Java to run those applications.
Lara Croft. The first squeeze for many old gamers.
