    The Gigabyte 1050 Ti 4GB that I paid $100 on sale at NewEgg peaked at $200 and currently list for $180. Not much of an improvement.

    Not very worried. Otherwise, economists would be raising the alarm that retirees will be outnumbering workers in 2030. Two-thirds of the federal budget will go to Social Security and Medicare. Taxes will have to go way up to pay for everything else. Automation will be the least of our problems.

    Never tried Reddit. Slashdot has been my home for 20+ years. I refused to let a bunch of rabble evict me from Internet home.

    I've been using the Microsoft ergonomic split keyboards for 30 years. But I've always replaced the Dell keyboard at work with a Logitech keyboard ($20). If I brought a Microsoft keyboard ($60) to work, it would walk away from my cube overnight.

    I was a big fan of the IntelliMouse back in the day. These days I'm using either Logitech mouse for gaming or a trackball for desktop.

    Except my company has a corporate policy against using open source software. So that's not an alternative to not paying Oracle.

    Many applications require Java to run. I can't see my company paying $2M+ per year for Java to run those applications.
