I thought he asked for permission to do videos, but not just to use the songs. I'm not sure the average singer/band would say yes to begin with; I have no idea how he could pull off a polka if he always asked.
Not trying to start a war over Amish Paradise, although that vid rocked.

Words misspelled often so that they are phonetic instead of correctly. Such as hard C's being replaced with K's, soft C's being replaced with S's, vowels being switched to phonetically match. Q's replaced with K's or C's. Y's ending words replaced with WY's.

I decided to actually read a spam yesterday. What I found was amazing: Almost every other word was not spelled correctly. Random characters seemed to be inserted throughout. Now I need to ask myself, why wasn't this picked up by spam filters? How much more obvious can you get?
1) is the subject matter adult? yes

I hear this but don't buy it. It's like an airline going to a small airport. They all charge more for it sighting that they make less money on the flights going in and out of it. Of course the catch is that they make more money on every other flight going into and out of every single airport that that small one connects to, and they don't want you to consider that.
It's the same way with wireless. Take AT&T for instance. Once you get on mLife (if you choose to), you'll sucker/convince others to do the same because of the way benefits work. When some redneck gets on it, his whole urbanized family might migrate to it (for instance).
It's not so much a conspiracy, as it is a big lie. (A conspiracy is a web of lies, and it takes at least two people, where as this is just one company at a time) It's not illegal or anything, it's just blatantly immoral and outrageous.
What has the RIAA been targetting? I've only heard of them suing Kazaa users, and so I assume that's all they are polling. There are many other platforms in use.
Also what are their polling tactics? Do they call people up "We are the RIAA, do you share music?" Who the hell is going to say "Why yes, would you like the new {insert generic band} album?".
I personally have not noticed a change in number of people sharing, or any individuals who have stopped. I have to cry social norming on this one. Social norming is when you lie and say people are doing what you want them to, then people will fall in line and actually do it. As with the posters at our school that say the average freshman has "0 - 2 drinks at a party", bullshit.
Do we not have a device powerful enough to take a photo of the lander when it enters our line of site to see if the panels are open, or if anything else went wrong?
I have to agree. Even if *Macs/Apples/Whatever they call themselves this day of the week) completely outrun PC's, they simply are not an option for me (unless, perhaps, if someone had a Linux distro running on it). It's not a condition of brand loyalty, it's simply practicality. Every computer I'll ever use in the workplace will either have a MS or *nix OS (or both) because of the nature of my line of work. I also believe that PC's are just plain more customizable in hardware and software.
Another way to look at it is the big picture. PC and Apple are competing standards. By market share and prevalence, PC won. If all the efforts at the continued Apple project were instead used on PC's, we'd have: another competitor to windows, another processor company to compete against, another company making graphics cards, another company making LCD screens: They are good at these things, but as they stand sitting in another standard, they aren't competing on their own right, but the standard itself, so they don't leave the impact they should.
Building off of what I said, shouldn't it be the people who are interested in the product (not interested in using the product, there's a difference) be the ones to help it, not someone in management being interested in it? I can't imagine a company ordering its underlings to upgrade a product they use but do not support. What I would expect is any fixes made by an employee to be given to whoever is supporting the product so that it could be added, but of course what might be right for one, might not be right for some.
I wanted to respond to this when I saw it on the inquirer.
Quite simply, the corporation adopts an open source project. A bunch of their employees use it. THEY know whether or not THEY like it, not the company.
How many individuals help out an open source project after the start using it from their business? That's what's important.
Oh it was on purpose man. I'm trying to create something! You could be part of it man, think about it... a shockwave flash seen by a billion nerds with your name on it..
I am a fan of mega huge projects, such as the mag lev in Japan/Europe, the multination fusion reactor project, etc, and what I think NASA and every other space agency in the world needs to do right now is allocate funding to research and development of the space elevator. Sure we've invested x billion in what we currently have, but many costs will fall so dramatically as to make it far worth it.
I'm certainly not the best source of information on it, but everything I've heard is good. Even the worst-case scenario (the obvious tether snap) would result in the mass floating away, not towards, the planet (or so I've read).
I propose that this intermediate language be called C-Bonics, and it should be taught in all classrooms in place of C. Many people don't learn proper C in their homes so it isn't fair to force them to do it in school.
I had a professor named Cockburn (last quarter), and I'll have him at least twice more. I don't think this is of interest to anyone but it's the only message in this thread that I can even remotely relate to.

I once downloaded 1.9 gigs (Linux) at 2.8 kbytes/sec (Modem).

This doesn't seem that hard to me.

Off topic, but FF series ended for me at the end of FF6. After that it turned into a bad anime filled with bad j-pop.

I've never heard of that. I always learned an alcoholic container whether open or not anywhere but in the trunk is illegal.
just like fox news :)
Is it me or do the police tend to have far less hindsight than everyone else?
Everyone has an infinite amount of hindsight. foresight on the other hand...

Will you buy me alcohol?
No.

It's ok, I've heard all Astronauts will be equiped with a hot cocoa sampler box.

I agree. I was going to get an old mac to play escape velocity, then they released it for PC.

I know I heard this phrase (loosely) before, but does someone know the name of the reference?

It's like space probes are from Venus and Mars is from.. umm..
