Right. It used GCR (Group Code Recording), which uses 5 bits to represent 4 bits of information. The whole point is because there were limits on how often the magnet flux reversals could occur on the disk.
I posit that the term "two dog night" doesn't even exist at all. I have never heard anyone say it. I *HAVE* however, heard of a band called "Three Dog Night". Perhaps you were just missing a dog.
What exactly do you expect Apple to do? They don't do component level board repair, they just swap out your phone for a working one.
Don't expect them to make production changes to last generation's phone. The best you could hope for is for Apple to release a software patch to solve the problem, which would do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING since the problem is mechanical.
I don't really know Silicon Valley Corporate culture.... Is it really acceptable to:
Send a business email from a YAHOO email account?
Send an email that looks like a 16 year old girl's text to her BFF?
I would have thought that a big company like Tesla would have its own internal email server, and I also would have thought that there would be some sort of decorum in the workplace.
What's really impressive is that it took FOUR employees to hack a website. FOUR? Really? One would have been enough. What did the other 3 do? Was this a concerted effort, or did all 4 of them hack the website individually without notifying the other 3?
This probably explains why American companies are outsourcing to China. "For the price of one American employee, we could get FOUR Chinese ones!"
"Eh, well, Mr. Prosecutor, it looks like you have me over a barrel. Tell you what though: If you drop those charges against me, I'll promise not to tell Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T about what I did...."
We have already replaced customer service agents with robots.... Call your local telephone or cable company. You don't get connected to a human, but an Interactive Voice Response system (IVR). Now if you're saying that the IVR can figure out every single possible problem that you can possibly have with your service or billing, that's pretty amazing. I don't think the IVR will be able to figure out what to do when you call and tell it that your cable box is oozing blood and your TV keeps showing a video of a creepy long-haired girl crawling out of a well.
It seems to me that they are all the same: They all have nothing to lose if ICANN control goes public... All of those companies already have domains associated with their names. Anyone wanting a NEW DOMAIN name however, will be subject to whatever rules are the whim of the new controllers.
If you make a lot of mistakes, whether you're a big company or not, they are still mistakes (unless they're intentional) and you still deserve to be punished.
I can see the reporter's view if (and only if) the presenters were a sample of the market demographic giving their opinions about the product. Of course you would want your demographic to include different colors/genders.
But, if the speakers were knowledgeable individuals either working at Apple, or paid by Apple, then that goes all out the window. You don't stop racism by hiring someone just because of their skin color. You don't stop sexism by hiring someone based on their gender. I don't automatically get a job just because I'm a white male. I have to actually have the skills to do the job. Why should any other race/gender expect the same treatment?
A friend of mine has a genetic condition which makes him very sensitive to light. Because of this, he spends a lot of time in his basement, where he can effectively block out all daylight. He even sleeps down there. More often than not, he comments how all the electronic things have little blue lights on them that shine brightly in the dark, and make it difficult for him to fall asleep. I can see his point.
Sometime around the mid 90's, manufacturers realized that they could make BLUE LEDs, so they did, and they started to use them as power indicators in EVERYTHING! As I type this, my monitor and my stereo each have a blue LED lit. It's not easy to see the blue LED - a green one would have been easier to see, and less harsh, and cheaper, and use less energy.
There is no reason the power and status lights have to be blue.
I can see maybe MOVs on the AC line inputs to help protect against transient voltage spikes, but are saying that all VLSI chips have diodes on every single input and output pin? If this is true, and it really does protect against static discharge, then why does every PC Board manufacturer make their employees wear grounding wrist straps?
I agree that this killer USB stick would most likely just kill the USB buffer, or just open the polyfuses, but in the worst case, it might fry the southbridge, and that would pretty much spell the end of your motherboard.
So are crappy banks. One I especially despise is "Guaranty Bank". I think it's supposed to be pronounced like "Guarantee", but I imagine that they would open themselves up to a whole bunch of lawsuits if they actually used the word Guarantee in their name.
Plus, it's a foolish thing to do. It doesn't make any sense to forego a class like history or math just so high school students can learn how to configure a network switch. Save that as an option for trade school!
Plus, there are plenty of students who don't want to go into that industry. They would rather be lawyers, bankers, artists, athletes, and those kind of careers really should stay out of IT.
Well, if you do buy 8 Raspberry Pi's, you're still going to need:
8 Power Supplies
8 SD cards
8 HDMI cables
And for those of you who think you're clever, and say "Well, I don't need the HDMI cables. I'll just SSH into them.", then you better add 8 CAT 5 network cables and at least one (if not more) 8 port network switch.
I will concede that the user guide in the starter kit is completely unnecessary, though.:)

Microsoft *NEEDS* the help. Google and Facebook don't.

Then, a few years later, it became $10 per month. Not really Zero anymore, is it?
"Eh, well, Mr. Prosecutor, it looks like you have me over a barrel. Tell you what though: If you drop those charges against me, I'll promise not to tell Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T about what I did...."
That's OK. You can just run your own DNS server, and add those missing entries. You're welcome!

Any hockey player.
This is also why Christmas carols are not trademarked.... They're too boring.
Adult supervision is now required for all smartphones.
When I read your post, I hear the voice of Optimus Prime in my head.
I didn't pirate it. It wasn't worth the effort.

It's fine that Microsoft wants to start hiring more autistic programmers.... Just as long as they hire them from INSIDE the U.S.
